What a dilemma!!!

My weight loss journey has been a long one. Over the past 4 years I have lost 61 pounds and managed to keep most of it off with some minor set backs here and there. I lost the last 19 as a WW member over the past 16 months. Its been slow but good because I've learned new and healthy ways of dealing with food issues.

Anyhow here's my quandry...I am 45 days away from my weddding and had my final gown fitting today. I had lost about 6 lbs since the last fitting and it had to be taken in again. So here I am .....4 pounds away from goal...It is within my reach. And the bridal store lady/ seamstress told me I am to absolutely not to lose any more weight....in fact she told me I should have lost my weight before buying my gown. Needless to say I went a little bridezilla on her. lol. Ugh this sucks. Do I continue to lose weight if i can and scramble for last minute alterations or try to maintain until after the big day? Arrrrggghhh!

If it were me, I would keep losing. You are RIGHT THERE....Do you think 4 pounds is enough to need to dress altered again?

I say go for it and scarmble if you have to...I know how important it is to get to a weight goal!

And, congrats!!! That is an awesome loss! Tell me how you did it! ha!

I think I might keep going. Hopefully 4 pounds does not make that much of a difference regarding alterations. I really want to lose 9 or 15 more but I figured I would set my goal high so it's easier to maintain and I can go to meetings for free sooner. This is the smallest I've ever been. When I was in high school I wore a size 18 and would walk by the junior's shops and feel sad. Now I'm 34, a size 8/10 and I shop at forever 21. hee hee. And now I'm almost at the finish line. Weight training is key and the core plan is the best. The weight really started coming off when I switched to core.

You can do it. Have the seamstress take it in really tight so that when you lose the weight it will fit. Can that happen? I am happy for you that you lost the weight that you wanted to without stressing. That is wonderful. YOu can do it. Tell the seamstress to do her blippn job.

I can't believe she said that to you... especially since so much can happen in the weight department in the 6-8 months waiting period when your gown comes in!

Congrats on the weight loss!

If you feel there are 4 lbs left to lose and you want to get to that goal, then do it! You may not need the dress altered again, but you will have reached your goal!

With Karen's help I have lost over 30 pounds in the past year by doing a half-assed version of the core plan. It really does work, and for someone like me it is much easier than the point counting system where you are always hungry.

And............congrats to the most beautiful woman in the world on being within a few more veggie burger for dinner days of reaching your goal. You look wonderful now and you always have looked that way to me.

Thanks girls. I think I am going to keep on going until I make goal. Can you imagine making goal and marrying your true love all at the same time? Two dreams come true at the same time. I promised myself I would buy myself a "right hand" diamond ring when I made life time. so I better start budgeting. smile29.gif

Oh regarding Core....if youv'e been thinking about it, give it a try especially if youv'e been at a plateau. You definately have to think about portion control but as my leader said nobody got to WW by eating too many veggies. I like it because I'm not always hungry like I was on Flex. I work out and during PMS week I tend to have never ending hunger. I just fill up on core foods (lean meats, veggies, omlets, fruit). If you are following the plan you will lose the first week. Everyone I see loses at least 3 their first week.
