Lisa - honestly, I think John has been my biggest motivator. He's been very supportive of me by cooking me healthy meals on occasion and encouraging me to stay on track or go to the gym when I need an extra boost of motivation. He also gave up drinking Coke when I did, because "if you don't need to drink it, I don't either."

Hehe... I just got up and he ordered me to get back on the couch and rest my ankle. He told me that he'd get me anything I needed. I told him that I don't think he can go to the bathroom for me!

But yeah, even though he loves me no matter what weight I am, he's still super supportive of my goals and that makes me want to do well. :-)

Lisa - I cant help it either...I get on the scale every day too! Sometimes I get on the scale at night before I go to bed so I can guestimate how good or bad its going to be in the morning. I've gotten pretty obsessed. I bought a bathing suit over the weekend. I was in-between sizes, so I bought the smaller size. I plan on taking my picture in the bathing suit as my inspiration pic for the next few weeks.

Leanne - sorry to hear about your ankle. I had a similar experience, I did something to my knee about a month ago. Running was a huge part of my routine and everytime I would go run my knee would double in size. The first week, week and a half it didn't hurt AT ALL, it would just swell, so I would RICE it and the swelling would go away. After a week and a half it really started to bother me. I finally ran again about a week and a half ago and it swole up. I need to have it checked. I have just been doing the 30 day shred and modifying some of the moves and the knee has been OK. Hopefully your Dr appt goes well tomorrow!

LeAnne, that's great that he's so supportive (and cute that he won't let you get up, too). Tom does 90% of our cooking, so I just have to make sure the right kinds of foods are in the house, and keep on him to be sure he's using non-stick spray instead of gobs of butter ... that sort of thing. However, even though he SAID he would diet with me, that lasted about a week and a half (during which he lost 6.5 lbs by doing NOTHING, lol).

Oh! And the other night I was especially snack-happy, and saw him up making a nice, fattening burrito for himself ... I went into the kitchen and he was like, "maybe you should have some fruit." For some reason, it just made me SO MAD (even though he was *trying* to help). I mean, the nerve! Maybe his fat *ss should have some fruit too, instead of a burrito! LOL ... i stormed out of the kitchen like a child, without eating anything else, so i guess he helped in the long run, LOL!

Haha, Lisa. I totally understand what you mean. It feels slightly insulting when someone suggests that you have a healthier snack or go to the gym, because it feels like that person is calling you fat instead of helping you stay on track. I've had a couple of occasions when I've wanted to tell John to put his healthy snack somewhere very uncomfortable, but it helps that I know that he's not passing judgment and he's just helping me do what I want to do. I know deep down that if I wasn't making a point of losing weight, he wouldn't even think to suggest it.... that helps me not go crazy on him in situations like that!

I know. This thread has been so slow. We only post on weigh in day. I'm going to try to be better and post more often for the last couple of weeks. The munchies suck! Especially when its that time of the month and all you want to do is snack. I drink a whole glass of water and brush my teeth. I never want to eat after just brushing my teeth, so sometimes that works. I have REALLY clean teeth that week! lol

For motivation I book trips to warm places. lol I booked a trip to the Bahamas in 10 days. So, I have been eating really well because I gained weight since we first started the contest. Oh, and I invited my super skinny, in great shape friend to come with me. The thought of having to lay next to her in a bathing suit is all the motivation I need! I have to set short term goals to stay motivated. It way easier to think, ok I have a trip in two weeks and have to eat well and workout, than it is to think I have to do it for the rest of my life. Even though I want to do it for the rest of my life, the thought of that is just too much for me. So, after the trip to the Bahamas I think I'm going to look into a 5k in my area in about 2 months. Then I can just think of what I need to do until then.

Ooh, good tip on the frozen whipped cream! Sounds yummy. And, I could eat every bag of flipz in the gorcery store! They are soooo good.

Kelly, I am with you on SO MANY levels. I think bikini motivation is one of the best motivators. Plus by breaking it up into "I'm going to work really hard for this short period of time" for a few sessions back to back, you've actually been good for much longer without even realizing it. We booked our site visit for April, so I've got a good bikini goal.

Umm... Flipz are amazing. When I'm being super moody for no apparent reason, John knows to offer me Flipz. If I can't resist them or try to eat them all in one sitting, then I'm not really mad, I'm just PMSing. They're the perfect blend of salty and chocolatey to satisfy any girly time craving.

I like Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople for tracking food and exercise. They also have helpful articles and will give you a free diet plan. My work actually gives me $150 a year to log in with them for 12 weeks or track my exercise for 12 weeks.

I'm with you. There have been days that I get toward the end of the day and I need to eat like 300 more calories! I have such a hard time eating enough protein. The only meat I eat is chicken (and I don't even really love that). I don't eat red meat, pork or fish. I get in a lot of yogurt and a protein bar, but both of those have a decent amount of carbs too. At the end of the day I'm at like 60% carb, 20% fat and 20% protein.
