ABOUT THE CONVENTION CENTER:

Advantage is you do not have to worry about the weather.

In this case the bride orders for me a lounge decoration.

A external company that was the cheaper one

INCLUDES THE LOUNGE DECORATION,
LIGHTENING
DJ
EQUIPMENT FOR DANCING

THE PRICE WAS 1500US IT HAS TO BE PAY IN CASH

SHOPPING MALL CENTER:

Advantage it is located just in front of Galaxy discothèque.

If you like the idea of the lounge decoration it can be placed as well there, it looks so nice if not just you can handle the equipment for dancing , enclosed the options

We have decided to go with the convention centre and we will likey get the lounge set-up. As much as I think it would be so nice to have it outside, Toni hasn't sent us a picture of the actual reception set-up for the shopping center and I don't want to have to worry about the weather and mosquitos! We are waiting to hear how much the lounge set-up will cost without the DJ/equipment for dancing as we are bringing DJ Bob in to do our wedding. I'll make sure to let you know if we hear anything!
Cool!! Thanks for the additional info. Having the reception outside with the lounge set-up is tempting... HOWEVER, the thought of mosquitos partying with us, is making my skin itch. & besides, the weather is a factor.

Any idea what the 'equipment for dancing' is? I'm curious to hear the price Toni quotes.

I think they mean the sound equipment. The hotel has their own speaker and equipment which is what we used for our reception. We also had the DJ too, but he just worked our ipod for us.

I chose an outside vendor because I've seen several wedding pictures from other couples who used the photoshop and I wasn't happy with them, personally. I felt like the photoshop makes everyone who uses them do the same cheesy poses in the same locations of the resort. I didn't feel their style was creative enough or photojournalistic enough for me. Yes, they really do charge you an additional $300 USD to use an outside vendor. sad.gif I wasn't happy with that policy but it was still worth it to me. Hope this helps!
Once again welcome back. I forget, where did you have ceremony? I am staying at del mar- I hope you can answer some questions. I want to start working on programs ect.. We want gazebo-there are 3. Did you see any of them? I'm trying to figure out which one I would want and the location related to where tropical ishuh.gif Also if you spent any time there, what pool would you set as daily meeting place for those who are interested? Any other tips you have would be great . Thanks so much

Thanks again Gail!

As far as I know, there is only one gazebo on the Del Mar/Beach side, did Gabriela tell you there were 3 gazebos or did she mean 3 locations for you to use (gazebo, beach, chapel)? The tropical a la carte (I'm asuming you mean the mediterranean a la carte) is located just off of the Del Mar lobby (next to the Brazilian a la carte)...so in relation to the wedding gazebo in the garden it's just a few minutes walking distance away.

Since the pool is all connected (lazy river) between the Del Mar/Beach, I would say that a good place for a daily guest meeting would be the one of the snack buffets by the pool, there are two (one is closer to the Del Mar rooms and one is closer to the Beach rooms) and pick the one that is closest to the buildings that you and your guests will be staying in (if that's even possible, I'll elaborate on this in my review).

I hope this is helpful to you! :)

Hey Girls! It has been a few days since we hae all chatted on here. So I am doing my OOT bags, and have been viewing the other areas on this site. I was wondering for Michelle, Kathy and the other recent IB brides, what did you find was useful in your bags if you created them. I was thinking about wristlets to carry money and Mugs. Would these be of use at the resort? Can you use your own cups at the bars there?

I just got some pashminas from Handbad Central and can't wiat for them to come in. Now i need to get some more items. :)

Thanks!

Bess

Bess,

I didn't do OOT bags for my group but only because most of the people travelling with us have already been to Mexico and knew what to expect. I love the idea of OOT bags. Money wristlets and mugs are a fantastic idea. Many of our family members brought "bubba keg" mugs with them to use at the pool bars etc and yes, the bartenders will put your drink in the mugs if you ask them to...absolutely! cheesy.gif

Bess,

No problem, anything I can do to help you girls out is always a pleasure! Yes, I'm all caught up on my sleep, now if I could just get over this darn cold...hehe. I haven't posted my review yet but I am committed to finishing it tonight (it is massive and it's taking me forever because I'm anal and I want to be as detailed as possible for you girls). I'm glad you like the pictures, I love my pictures and I look at them more than once a day haha I'm like an addict! Are any other girls this way with their pics or just me? I'd like to relive the day over and over, personally lol. wink.gif
