That's my plan ... give it a "shower" to rinse off the salt/sand and let it hang in the washroom for a few days. But we're there for another week after our wedding so we have a bit more time...

I did my trash the dress on Saturday morning (we got home after lunch) and we left Monday morning. I wouldn't say it was COMPLETELY dry (due to humidity) but it was dry enough to shove in a garbage bag, which I brought from home, and shove that into my OOT bag supplies empty luggage!

I simply gave it a shower and then hung it up in the closet with some towels below it.

We did ours on Sunday, I rinsed it in the shower and hung it up over the jacuzzi tub. On Wednesday I was able to shake the last of the sand out of it cause it was completely dry (which I was surprised cause it is a heavy lace dress). I packed it up that day in the garment bag I brought it down in and it was good to go. If you are in a rush, the sun would probably be a good option in speeding up the drying time.
