Toronto bridal shop recommendations?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am looking for recommendations for Toronto-area bridal shops that carry destination wedding dresses - preferably something that I won't roast in when I'm in Jamaica!

If it helps, I'm hoping to spend less than $500 on my dress.

Thanks!

I ordered my dress from Bea Shawn in Brampton, but I didn't try on any of the dresses there. I had tried on my dress originally in Newfoundland & then again at Windsor bridal on Orfus Rd in Toronto - I ordered it from the shop in Brampton because the price was the same as other places, but alterations were included! They did a great job on the alterations & I was very happy!! My suggestion is if you find a dress elsewhere, record the style number & designer & check with Bea Shawn to see if they can get it in for you!! Good Luck!!

We visited many bridal stores both in Toronto and Brampton but we ended up buying Katie's dress from Windsor Bridal, on Orfus Road. I'm pretty sure they take the tags out of the dresses so we couldn't figure out what designer it was and try and get it cheaper anywhere else.

Anyway, there customer service was not the best and there 'rules' annoyed me. A lot of the staff were rude to me and I was paying for the dress! But Katie had a hard time deciding on a dress and she really loved the one at Windsor Bridal which was close to where she lives so I went along with it.

I would also recommend Bea Shawn in Brampton where we got the bridesmaid dresses. Different experience in there altogether.

I had a really bad experience with Windsor Bridal too Helen! I HATED there rules! I was going into the change room to try on the dresses & the saleslady followed me in. I asked what she was doing & she said she had to come in with me. I did not respond to that too well! I told her no, and she actually had to go ask her manager if that was ok!! Can you believe it?? While she was gone I told my friend that if she came back & said she had to come in with me I was out of there!! I mean really!!?? It was just as easy for her to zip me up, clamp me together, etc after I had the dress on & my "important parts" were covered!! I would not buy a dress from there based on my experience! Not to mention, they were not very pleasant at all!
