Iberostar Brides....POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am trying to figure out what I need to take/supplies. Do I get napkins and everything like I would do for rec here?

I am not hiring DJ, taking a CD. How did everyone manage organization... did you ask guest to announce first dance etc.. Any suggestions welcome

Did you play music during dinner too?

I am thinking of having violinist for ceremony and Marc band for cocktail hour, does anyone know if we have to provide them with list of songs also.

Last question- I promise. My MOH dress is indigo blue- what colors can I use with that!! Having hard time picking wedding colors and picking flowers

In case no one has noticed I'm so bad at this. I admire all of you that have it all together and have done so many projects

Thanks Michelle for link to cups and all your help. You have done such a amazing job

FutureBotter- Awesome that you're from IL too!!! I'm from LaGrange Park...like 20 miles west of chicago. Ugh, I'm so sick of this cold. I love the snow but I hate it when it's frigid out. It's supposed to warm up next week...fingers crossed!! You're getting married a lot before me! What are you guys doing for your at home reception? I'm trying to not get too involved with my planning but it's so hard because I'm just so excited! I am currently working on my master's degree and I'm supposed to graduate in May so I really need to concentrate on that but who wants to read about anatomy and shoulder rehabilitation when they can plan a wedding??

Does anyone have any opinions on doing the poolbar vs the tropical restaurant at the Del Mar? My other biggest question is whether or not to use a travel agent. One told me that it would be hard to do for less than 800 bucks for 3 nights but on cheapcaribbean.com it's only $760 for that long with airfare...any opinions or good experiences with travel agents?

They had regular white linen napkins at the dinner table, but if you were wanting something particular or a colored napkin you could bring them down with you. Since we were in the steakhouse restaurant we did not have music playing during dinner (they had music palying in the restaurant, but nothing that we brought with us). We hired teh DJ, but he did not speak English so my BM announced us and the dances. We didn't introduce the whole bridal party so it worked for us. You can always ask one of your outgoing guests if they wouldn't mind playing MC and just let them know the order to announce things.

As far as flowers, you could do orange, pink or white flowers or a combination of those with the blue dress would look pretty.

I don't know anything about the Del Mar so I can't comment on that, but we did use a travel agent. That was one of the best decisions we made. She handled all the guest questions and was the one that let them know initially that if they decided to stay at the DelMar, Beach or other resort they would be required to pay for a day pass to come on the property for the wedding day. We didn't do a group rate since we didn't have enough people willing to travel on the same dates for the same length of time, but her rates were still the cheapest compared to what our guests were looking up online. A few of our guests booked through a different TA and had different ground transportation. They never came to pick them up from the hotel to go home so they ended up paying for cabs to go to the airport even though they already paid for transportation with their package. I don't know if they ended up getting a refund for that, but they had issues. It was also nice not having to be involved in everyone's trip planning. You have enough stress with planning the wedding you don't need the additional aggravation. If someone asked me something I would just direct them to our TA with any questions saying she was the expert and could price out different options that would work best. They were also able to set up payment plans where as if you book online you have to pay in full on a credit card. Some of our guests booked early and just made monthly payments until the balance was due.

I'm using a travel agent. They do all the work for you and work with your guests for their travel plans. Plus my travel agent has been doing all the work with the wedding planner so far as well. It takes a lot of stress off of you. I would highly suggest using a travel agent.

Which one are you looking for? The boarding pass or the passport?

I will email you whichever ones you want. For downloading on this board you need to accumulate enough points first.
