Thanks the heads up. Yeah, we do have uniglobe here...I'll check them out.

Ladies- I just wanted to wish all the GP brides wonderful weddings. Due to recent financial issues that have arisen in my family, we are having to scrap the destination wedding in favor of something closer to home (a decision made just tonight). The resort looks amazing, and I hope you all have the weddings of your dreams! Enjoy!

Mexicobride2009 - congratulations!!!

I would love to hear all about it when you come back. So exciting!!

My fiance and I get married there Nov 19th and our group leaves on Nov 14th to 21st for a week.

We pretty much are as far as we can be with the planning until we get all our numbers and touch base with Rioco and Erika a few months before. We want a private reception and understand you need 25 people at least to do this.

When you get back if you could please write me with a chain of events on how you did your day...reception, first dance, speaches, DJ or CD player, etc...I would greatly appreciate it. Also, where did you do your ceremony?? We are looking at the beach gazebo.

Also, what documents do you need to take with you to get married? How did the blood work go?? Did you do it on site or off site?

Thinking of you and have a wonderful week and wedding too!!!

Look forward to hearing all about it!!

A question for all:

I've been in touch with Erika. To hold a private reception, it now cost between $50-$65. I've asked for $45 but to no avail. If anyone has any luck, please let me know.

I'm really liking the pictures and reviews of Portofino (terrace) for the reception but I'm told that the reception there will be for 2 1/2 hrs and we're not allowed to bring our CD there for music. Which surprises me b'cos Gemstone's Fiance's bro had music and dancing there in Mar 2008. The disco goes from 11pm-2am.

So, for those who are having the reception in an ala carte, what are most of you planning to do after dinner? Where are you planning on having your first dance, cake cutting and speeches?
