Possible Buenaventura Honeymoon???

Recommended Posts

We are not getting married there. We were going to, we are having our wedding at the Mayan Palace. We will be staying at Buenaventura for the week we are there. Our families will also be there. I just thought that they had the best prices. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is still nice with its renovations and its all inclusive.

Don't know if this helps, but I just had a gfriend stay there for a vacation/visit. I thought the room was nice - not super glam or anything, but clean and airy with lots of light. She was happy with her stay there, so I figured that was a plus :).

One thing you should know is that resort typically has a lot of kids - when my gfriend was there, it was fairly empty, so maybe it won't be very crowded for you. I'm not saying that's a bad thing - but it can be a noisy thing :)).

One other thing (I promise I AM NOT trying to scare you away!), the beach isn't the nicest beach - it's a rocky beach. The nicest beach in PV would be some place either in the Marina or, quite honestly, on the southern end of town (which is also known as the alternative end of town) at Playa de Los Muertos.

But if you don't care too much about the beach, and are more into the pool, well, they have a very nice pool :):).

We honeymooned at the Buenaventura too! Although when we were there they had some construction issues which weren't fun. But I'm sure that's over now and you can reap the benefits of a remodel. The staff were great and our room had a beautiful jacuzzi in it which we used every night. It helps set the mood for a honeymoon IMO.

I loved the location of the resort. Downtown PV is a quick walk and I encourage you to stop along all the little shops and bars along the way on the malecon. Bring some good shoes though because your feet will hurt after a while.

Like Mishka said the beach is a little rocky but that didn't keep up from swimming in it. The current seemed a bit strong too compared to the resort we stayed in the previous week in Nuevo Vallarta. There were NO kids when we were there, the guests were all adults and we had alot of fun making friends and hanging out. It's a smaller resort than it's neighbor the Premiere but you can still use the amenities at the 5 star Premiere. We would swim there and got to eat there apart of the AI package offered by the Buenaventura. The food was really good at the Buenaventura but nothing beat the service or meals over at the premiere.

Let me know if you have any questions and I can try my best to help. We were there in October of 2007 so over a year ago.
