How long did you date before enagaged?

A little over 5 years of dating before we got engaged.

dating 4 and a half years... engaged for a year and a half

wow! I can't believe so many people here have been together 8 years before even getting engaged!

Umm... we dated 2 years before he popped the question, and we'll have dated 3 1/2 ish when we get married.

My Fiancé always said that he felt that a couple should date for 3 years before that got engaged, but he actually was going to propose to me on our 1 year anniversary. A week before I found my ideal ring. So, I told him that I had changed my ring choice. I had not known he was going to propose on our anniversary or that he had even bought a ring. I found out later that he returned my first ring choice for my new choice. Needless to say, he could not do it in enough time for our trip (we went to Vegas for our 1 yr anniversary). So he proposed on NYE, 9 days shy of our 13 month anniversary. We will have been together for 2 years, 4 months and 14 days by the time we wed.

We dated for 4 years minus 7 months (I needed to "explore" a couple years ago which were those 7 months)

we were together 6 years before he proposed. we will be together about 7.5 years when we get married. time sure flies! :-)

we have been together for 5 years.. but dated for only four of those years.. for two semesters we never had an official title..lol.. but when we get married, that will make 5 yrs total..

We had been dating almost 4 years when we got engaged, it will be about 5 1/2 when we get married.

He popped the questions after 10 months, we have been together 3 and a half years and will be getting married right before 4 years!<3
