Hey - thanks for this suggestion. I actually had totally thought of having BM dresses that mimicked the lace detail. I was just going to post the pic of the one I'd looked at, but I think I've deleted it from my computer.

I think overall right now I'm leaning much more towards a simpler, more modern dress cut. Not cotton, but a thick, cottony material that is sharp and more J-crew-ish. You know what I mean?

I went back on the J Crew site the other day and the dresses I'd chosen were gone. Not a big deal, because my mother is going to probably sew them. And fortunately I've saved them to my work computer. So hopefully come Monday I can post them and get some more opinions on them :)

I loooove the wedding dress though :)smile29.gif

I definitely want the feeling of the day to be 'beach chic', but not overly formal. I think my sisters are probably assuming it'll be quite formal, so I'm going to have to make sure that they know it's not.

On that note, I think I'll have to start posting on shoes! I'm seroiusly not sure what kind of shoes will work for the dress. I've gone nuts and recently bought a bunch of shoes online. blush2.gif

Shay: All this to say that I think that the one you posted is actually really really beautiful... and I think if I were having a more formal wedding I'd totally go that direction. Thanks!

Britt: I think that's why I am SO in love with this dress!!! It's the perfect contrast of elegant and relaxed. It's so funny. Very much like the way I usually feel and want to dress. LOL!

For example, I can actually get in and out of this dress in seconds! wink.gif It's super easy to put on. It's just a quick zipper up the back. :)

BUT it's absolutely gorgeous.

OK I have to stop! I can talk about this dress on and on. jiggy.gif Someone - hit me!!! It must be the one. :)smile120.gif

This is funny - so many things change in a few months!

Thought I'd update this thread with the dress I actualliy ended up getting and wearing and the BM dresses I went with too.

BTW, the Alfred Angelo dress this thread was based on is still for sale! I bought it for $560 and am selling for $300 now. pinkie.gif

Oooh! i love the colour you got!
Yes, she wore those heels, but only after the ceremony. For the ceremony we were all barefoot. The sand was very deep so there's no way we coud have walked in shoes unless they had put down a solid walkway.
