PV Dreams.. so many questions!

Recommended Posts

Hey bridies!!! So I'm looking at Dreams PV for my 2010 Feb, wedding. It seems to be affordable for all of our guests and still good quality. However, I'm completely a mess when it comes to whether or not hiring a WC is really necessary, as well as, hiring a photographer in the PV area that isn't over the top expensive, as we are fairly young and trying to adhere to a budget of sorts. I just feel like the resort 'photographers' might not cut it especially since we only really get something like 50 photos, which seems miniscule!! However, again, budget friendly, seems hard to find.

Any suggestions ladies?

I'm not sure if you would be interested, but I know a young photographer who just moved here and graduated from photography school a year ago. Because she's a beginning professional photographer and needs to fill-up her portfolio she's willing to do weddings uber cheap. If you're interested, pm me and I'll send you the info :):).

hi! i was married at dreams this past february. my planning, pics, and review are all in my siggy. i can't recommend my photog highly enough! i can try to answer any questions you may have, but if they're about pricing and whatnot, you'd be best off asking a more recent bride, as my prices were from 2007. congrats on choosing a place!

Hey Kate,

I've been planning for our June wedding at Dreams PV, and working through their onsite WC-- Rebecca. She's FANTASTIC. Actually, there's an entire thread devoted to her. lol So I wouldn't worry about outsourcing. She's been great so far.

We went back and forth on whether to hire an outside WC (well, by we I mean me!). I finally decided to just go with the hotel WC because we are on such a tight budget and while it would nice, it wasn't necessary. We are bringing in some of our own decorations and the hotel will set it all up for us. I think this route works well if you want something simple (the hotel does basic stuff - and it looks nice from what I can tell) or, if you want something a little more elaborate (like I do), you have the time and creativity (and don't mind some added stress) to find stuff yourself and bring it down. After we budgeted in what we would spend on decorations, etc. (along with the price of getting it down there), we decided it was better to go that route than hire an outside WC. But if we had the money, we would have hired someone!

Oh, and we are hiring an outside photographer! Even on our tight budget, from what I read of the hotel stuff it wasn't going to cut it for us. We don't have a huge photographer budget but we have found some reasonable rates. From what I've found you can expect to pay at least around $1000 minimum for an outside photog (exception being new photographers looking to build their portfolio) and the rates go up and up depending on the photographer.
