Canadian brides getting married in Mexico-Legal wedding info

Recommended Posts

Maybride2009 -LOL sorry but that is too funny, my FI says the exact same thing all the time! "Whatever makes you happy", "I don't know", "You're the boss" etc.

I don't him to think of me as management! sad.gif lol Not a good way to view your future wife imo, he's probably just kidding when he says that to me but yeah lol. I give him choices, he just doesn't really care about flower colors and stuff I guess hehe.

Jenny FTB - This is what I got from my TA who got it from Paloma:

Valid passports. In case the brideâ€s name is not the same in her passport than in her birth certificate and she wants to get married with the same name of her birth certificate she should bring her birth certificate (original) apostilled by the government of her country and translated into Spanish by a Mexican official translator (stamped). Driver license will not be accepted by the official.

If the bride is widowed or divorced is necessary to bring her birth certificate (original) apostilled by the government of her country and translated into Spanish by a Mexican official translator (stamped). If the groom is widowed or divorced no additional documents are required.

I've been trying to get in touch with Jazmin for a couple of weeks now, to no avail. I'm sort of starting to freak out because if we have to order these birth certificates and get them apostilled, then we're running out of time. And I will be very upset if we do go through that process and it turns out we didn't need them.

Anyway, from what I understand the only way you need your birth certificate for bp tulum is if you have a different name than what is in your passport or if you are widowed or divorced.

I am VERY confused!

Scoutley...i am so confused, and to be honest I'm getting a bit pissed off by all this...Jazmin emailed me that info (see page one) a couple weeks ago and I have been running around like a mad woman stressed to the max to get this all done for her...and I have tried to call her as well with no luck...on top of it all, Paloma and Yuritiza have sent emails to other brides on this forum which are totally contradicting what Jazmin has sent me. We are having to spend 600$ to get this all done possibly for nothing....I dont really know what to do except do what she says or risk them not allowing us to get married...SO ANNOYED WITH THIS HOTEL RIGHT NOW.....

We are in Edmonton and would like to know if anyone has found a translator they have used here in Edmonton?

Also, do you know what kind of qualifications are required to get stuff translated? I don't want to get some random kid who can write in spanish to translate it if they need something more official.

Hey there! I'm from Edmonton too, although I am not required by my resort to translate my birth certificate, my TA mentioned to me that there aren't many places in the city that do a good job of it, she mentioned that she could give me a list of some reputable people in Calgary that can do it. Maybe talk to a TA and see if they can refer you to someone? Good luck!
