Dominican Republic 'Appropriate' Liquor?

All of these posts going around about using tequila as a wedding favor and having shots instead of a toast really have me inspired.

My family and my friends are a hard partying sort of group. Needless to say, there will be a lot of drunken frivolity at our wedding. I love the idea of liquor as a favor and/or doing shots as our toast. But, I am stumped on what kind of alcohol is DR inspired?

Any ideas?

Oh know what you should look up Mamajuana. Its considered dominican viagra. It's some kind of herbs that you soak in rum and then take shots of it. It was the big drink when we were down there. i think some sites have recipes for it. goodluck

let us know how you make out. they should definately have it at the resort, they had it at every bar at mine and i'm sure yours will too. It was all over the island
