? For those that DIY invites with a band around the outside...

I need help. I am using a pocketfold invite and am wrapping the outside with ribbon and then a square closure (like a buckle). This is the plan anyway..

 

Silly question but how did you close it? Glue? I am challenged. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Many people have done this on here. It looks like this:

Have you concidered glue dots. You can find them at any craft store (Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Joanne's, or Hancock Fabric). Just a suggestion! Good Luck!

I havent made mine yet... but I was going to suggest the glue dots also!

Glue dots are great and you can get a whole roll of them in the scrapbooking aisle for just a couple dollars.

Hey that is my invite!


Here is what I did to close it all together. I used the vertigo pocketfolds from cards and pockets. where you see the ribbon is where the invite actually opens.

1.) first I glued the small pink square mat to the actual pocketfold but only glued it half way on.
2.)then I cut the ribbon long enough to go just around the invite and layed it on top of the pink square and actually secured that with a small sized zot (glue dot)
3.) next I took my white square and glued it on top of the pink mat and ribbon.
4) to close the ribbon around the back i took another zot and secured the ribbon together in the back.

seemed to work well. I think some people weren't sure how to open because they didnt' want to ruin the invite or anything. but they opened just fine if you just pull the ribbon apart from the back

I know, I love them! I have them in every size and thickness and in permanent or removable!

I don't have a solution, but I have to say I like the way your invites turned out!
