Yeah, it's really long. And really scary. I tried to keep in mind while reading it that it might be biased, but still. They had enough to write like 10 pages about how ridiculous he is. I honestly was shaking with fear when I put the magazine down...and that's why I'm so nervous for the results tonight!

As for this thread - the intention is for healthy, friendly discussion ONLY - if you cannot be respectful of other's opinions, even if they are different than yours then please DO NOT post on this thread.

I am voting for Obama, I prefer his policies on the Economy, Taxes, Health Care, the war in Iraq and Education. I also feel that Joe Biden is a more qualified back-up candidate in case anything happened to Obama.

The most important issue to me right now is Health Care - I am hopeful that we will one day have universal health care in the U.S. and better preventative medicine! cheer2.gif

Heyyy I thought we wern't going to bash the canidates but just say who we are voting for and why?! lol.

Ok so I'm the outcast on this thread, but I say it proud that I'm voting for McCain! My FI, my dad who is a vet, my fam, & FI's fam all are too. Without getting into details that might start a debate that I don't and wont get into, imo- he's more experienced all a round, his views on abortion, climate policy, immigration, education, veteran, the fact that he fought and was a POW for this Country, etc etc etc. In regards to the Rolling Stone article- its just that - an article. I have read manyy disturbing articles about Obama, but I realize that they are more than likely false. I saw a website that said Obama was the anti christ and all this scary stuff, do I believe it, no of course not! There was a DVD I saw about corrupted muslim's and how Obama is working with them to overpower America and take us down, it's complete BS. People have to look past all the media and articles they read and realize that things are made up. At the end of the day though its "To each his own" ...regardless, whom ever the winner is, I hope they are being honest with us Americans and really help make this Country a better place. K bye bye before I get ambushed hahahaaaaaa

Couldn't agree more! I love this country, but we should be so much better than we are! I feel Obama can lead us there!

Jacqueline, I'm an Obama supporter living in Texas, so I feel quite alone most of the time, too. :) Veterans issues are also at the top of my list. My FI served in Iraq and Afghanistan for 7 years. In my opinion, Obama has done so much more to support veterans than McCain has and it's one of the main reasons Obama got my vote. When McCain voted against the new GI Bill, that did it for me. I do respect the fact that he fought for our country and was a POW, but I can't support the way he's voted on veterans issues recently.

I just can't wait to see what happens!!!!

Jac, good for you for posting your real thoughts and I don't think there will be any bashing. I see that 9 other people marked that they voted for John McCain as well, but you are the first to give your comments, so kudos to you! (Unless I missed those comments somewhere, if I did, sorry!)

I also see that 2 people said "other" and I actually hear that ALOT. So many people say they aren't happy with EITHER candidate, so I was wondering if those two people could come back and post their thoughts.

I have been going back and forth on this issue. I have yet to vote, but decided last night that my vote was going to Obama. My DH is voting for McCain.

I am not for increasing taxes at all. I do not like being labeled "mega rich" because we make over a certain amount of money combined. BUT I do feel that Obama is a true American, and comes from adversity. I mean seriously only in America can a poor boy raised by his grandmother, get a good education, move his way to the top and is now running for president. Oh and to top it off he is black. Just a few decades ago, blacks weren't even allowed to vote. This to me is America! I am proud to cast my vote for him and I hope he wins.

I am a "die-hard" republican, BUT I voted for Obama. I strongly support Obama with his education, health care, war, etc. Now, I'll probably be the outcast here, but I love Bush, but I think we are in need of a drastic change. I was a supporter of McCain, way back in the beginning. I didn't have anything against Obama, but I was a supporter of McCain. Then throughout his campaign, I saw a new side of McCain, that I did not like. He became very nasty, disrespectful, rude, and dug way too far into to personal business of his opponents. Obama, on the other hand, was very consistent. I did more research on both of them, and I really support Obama's plan. Then when McCain chose Palin, he lost me. I feel Biden is the perfect candidate. There are too many issues with Palin, that I don't even want to get into. Our family is split too, although we all discuss everything respectfully. FI and I are both republicans, but we both voted for obama
