Bad Reviews On Tripadvisor About Food Being Horrible At Paradisus And Paradisus Palma

Recommended Posts

We had 40 guests at our Paradisus wedding, and all of our guests were excdeptionally pleased with the food. Even the buffett was really good, IMHO, but we are NOT picky, 5-star restaurant eaters. We don't care much for chain food - and usually go to independent restaurants when at home ... and have no complaints about the food (except the burgers at the grill by the beach were undercooked).

The people with us were all different types of travelers, some were world travelers who love luxury and top-notch food, others had never been at an AI before.

Everyone wants to return.

Our rehearsal dinner and reception food were fabulous - absolutely no complaints from us or any guests.

It is totally a subjective thing.

We could not be happier or more content with our decision to marry at PPC.

Also, we honeymooned at PPR and I actually preferred the food at PPC (so did hubby) ... especially the buffett was better at PPC to us ... but again, it's subjective (we loved tha Pasta Station at PPC that wasn't available at PPR).

But all of the a la carte restaurants were fabulous at both resorts -- at least they were to us.

We really couldn't see why people would complain about the food at either resort..

I've had lots of people say "oh...your going to DR?? The food is (or I heard the food is) not very good/terrible". FI and I went to Gran Bahia Principe Cayaco (in Samana) last Feb & the food was FANTASTIC!! All we did was eat! We'd get up in the am, go to the buffet, go to the pool, go to the buffet, have a nap, go to the beach, go to the buffet/a la carte!! I swear there was even one night that we had a late a la carte reservation so I went early to the buffet and then to the a la carte (I hated to miss out on what the buffet had that night!!)

Sorry...that got a little off topic!!

Back to it...like previously said, unless ALL the posts are negative I wouldn't worry about it!! And don't go by the trip advisor star rating - it's bogus! I do love looking at the traveller pics on there though!

Oh...and FYI...I would say a lot (if not the majority!) of people who claim to have gotten sick "down south" forget to include the fact that they drank from sun up to almost sun up again! And probably drank too many pina coladas (and we all know what that coconut milk can do to your system!!)
Granted there are some legitimate illnesses.

OMG us too!! I swear, we meant to do so much, but the majority of the days, it's just so stinkin hot, you just lay like coconuts on the sand and doze by the ocean... heaven!! Get up, graze, snooze again!

I am a foodee but I also think that you aren't going to get great pizza or mac n' cheez in the DR. The people I know who say the food isn't great don't go for the "fresh local fare" that migth be the tastiest because it is closer to what the DR people know. Enjoy the fresh fruits, fish and icecream. Stay simple and enjoy.

Hey guys, my name is Jeanette and I have been reading the forum for about 3or 4 months. I decided to join because I see all the valuable info that goes back and forth from members. I am planning my wedding for Punta Cana, DR hopefully August 2010. I soo want to do it at the Paradisus Palma Real! But I haven't decided between PPC or PPR!! The pictures look amazing!!! I can't wait to start communicating with everyone! :) I have worries though... mostly about food.. My fiance and I have large families (150 total) and love to eat!! They eat all day!!! What should I do when they look up Paradisus on Trip Advisor and see the negative feedback?? I don't think they will want to go because Palma Real is not that cheap, they will want quality!! I'm confused!!! Please help!

Jeanette I and all of my guests loved the food. You could get lobster at almost any restaurant and the steak at my reception was so tender i used a butter knife to cut it. i didnt hear one complaint about the food when i was there. I think all the food was great especially for an all-inclusive.
