I think they have the body pillows in a couple of places. Try WalMart, HomeOutfitters, The Bay, Zellers...

I don't know where you are located exactly. Were you looking specifically for someone that delivers in Canada?

Are you downtown TO? Let me know roughly where abouts you are and I'll do some research.

Sorry you are dealing with this but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Boy Michelle, I just read this and I feel so bad for you. My girlfriend just had colon surgery and she had to have the bag also. But she didn't have it that long. She complained of the same things as you. You have gotten some great ideas and just try and remember this is temporary. I think your nurse can give you something for the burning. Keep us posted and good luck. Hope you fell better soon!

Michelle I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. I second Alyssa's idea about the pillow - I actually just bought one a couple of weeks ago at Toys R Us/Babies R Us for a friend - they have them at Walmart too I believe and I don't think they are too expensive!

Hey Michelle, my best friend has had one for 12 years, she got a permanent one when she was only 16 and had to have her colon removed. I think the advice about the pillows is a good one, and thankfully you don't have too long to deal with it. I thought i would share a funny story though...

So my friend "L" couldn't graduate high-school with the rest of us because of her illness, she had to take her final year at another school and one day in class during an exam the girl behind her lets out quite a loud "toot." Everyone turns to look and laugh, and the girl goes, "ew, L you are so disgusting." She found this quite amusing since she no longer had a colon, everything was all stitched up, and it would be physically impossible for her to have made the offending sound.

I know it was a hard transition for her and I really hope that things start to get better and more comfortable for you... it will be gone before you know it.

All the best

You said that it burns under the sticky stuff. Is it under the adhesive stuff that it is burning? If so, I would ask your nurse about some no-sting barrier cream. Sometimes it is a cream, and sometimes they come like a little alcohol swab. These are very good, especially for those who are sensitive to adhesive. We use these a lot on patients and they do work.
