TTD Session, then what?

I just thought about this:

After your ttd session, what did you do with your dress? We are being married in Jamaica at the RIU. I wonder if it would be safe to wash and dry it, or should I let it hang dry.

How did you care for yours afterwards?

I am doing my TTD straight after the couple's shoot and will have to get out of the dress (no reception, so no worries ) I have zero clue what to do with the dress other than hang it over the bathtub, then clean when we come home... I don't want the hassel of getting it to the resort staff to take care of and all that, especially on my wedding day!

good thinking! I plan on doing the same thing with mine (hanging it up), thankfully I am staying in Cabo for my honeymoon so I'll have time for it to dry.

I have to pack up my dress 4.5 days-ish (married Sat morning, leaving Wed afternoon) after the wedding so Im sure it will be dry lol, at least I'm hoping! Are you worried about the salt-water staying on your dress that long? I wasn't but am not sure now... maybe rinse the whole thing?

Well, I have a second dress for the ttd session which is much lighter, but I wasnt sure that I wanted it in the bathroom dripping all over the place. We leave the resort the next day so I wasnt sure if maybe I could have it laundered or at least dried before we left.

After our TTD, I hopped in the shower in my dress and rinsed it off (there was TONS of sand in it). FI then took it and hung it out on the balcony to dry. Mine was fairly lightweight, and it was dry that night.

I know that others have hung it to dry as best as it would and then folded it damp and put it in a plastic bag for the trip home.

I don't think you'd want to dry it mechanically (as in put it in the dryer). I think that could do serious damage to both the fabric and the styling. You're better travelling with it damp and then hanging it to finish drying when you get home.

But, if it makes you feel any better, my dress was MUCH cleaner coming out of the ocean than it was after a night of partying in it.

Hey ldaies - my cousin did a TTD session in mexico and left 2 days later for their HM. She just simply rinsed it to remove some sand and salt water and when she came home home had it dry cleaned and it came out good as new - you would never know the dress was worn in the water - I swear she could sell it for new. So hopefully - it works out for you! The pictures will be worth every penny anyways

In the same vein... when do you do your TTD ? If it is after the ceremony, then what do your wear for the reception ? Or do you do it another day... ?

Or is it just a common thing maybe to wear something other than your wedding dress at the reception ?

I'm curious.
