Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Girls

I had my heart set on getting the individual wedding cakes from sweet dreams - I randomly decided to email them last week, just to get there most recent prices - turns out they are based too far away from Moon Palace to be able to deliver.....absolutely gutted! The individual cakes I wanted from them are amazing....are any of you using an outside vendor for your wedding cake - if so, who are you using? This is my new mission - find someone local to do these cakes!! cheesy.gif

I am going to contact moon palace to see if they will do them as well, but i have a feeling they won't.

PLEASE HELP girlies!! cheesy.gif cheesy.gif cheesy.gif

Here was what my WC said about rose petals: "we also have Bag of natural rose petals for your flower girl or to throw at the end of the ceremony $35usd is the price." She was sending me general information so I didn't ask if you could use silk ones or not.

There was a request for DJ information which I have attached. I also am trying to attach a powerpoint flower catalog that shows different flower options and prices. Its not working however so I will keep trying.

I have a question for those of you who have done an AI before or who have been to MP.

We want to order either koozies or stadium cups to put in our OOT bags. Which do you think are more "usable" at the resort? We also want it to be something they would use back home (i.e. I would prefer to give the koozie but if they won't use them much at the resort we may go with the stadium cups). Do they serve beer out of a can or bottle? Or are all drinks served in cups??

I'm jealous! Marlyn said that she was submitting a request for early contact with an onsite WC a couple weeks ago and I've yet to hear any different. She eventually emailed me a phone number to call to speak directly to one of the WC's at the resort. The gal I briefly spoke with had such a thick accent I couldn't understand her, so she provided me with her email address to send my list of questions. I'm yet to hear anything back from the email...... hhhmmmpph.

Is Claudia's email just [email protected]?

Much thanks, Myen! Since I haven't gotten any kind of definate word about the early assignment of my own WC, and ROSanchez (the gal I spoke to momentarily on Friday) has not yet responded to any of my questions, I dropped Claudia a line to get some kind of definitive reservation for the Catholic Chapel.

Between the gals in Miami and those in Cancun, I have so many questions up in the air and I'm waiting anxiously for any kind of answers. I submitted a major revision to the symbolic ceremony script for the ministers review back on September 14 and haven't gotten a response back yet. I'll send the list of questions to Claudia as well. Someone has gotta know the answers...

I've stayed at an AI before (one of which is a Palace resport) and I also visited the Moon Palace... and all these places are notorious for serving drinks in tiny cups. That is why we decided to go with personzalize mugs. We got them from discountmugs.com. It was one of the few places that had small minimum orders and were priced reasonably. From what I remember, beer was not served in bottles, so koozies may not be put to use at the resort. Good luck!

RESTAURANTS

Does anyone have any recommendations on the restaurants at the resort? I have 40 people and they are telling me that they can only reserve for 35. I was thinking of having them go with 35 and then getting to the restaurant earlier and persuading them to make room for the other 5. I also heard that the Brazilian and seafood restaurants are the best, but wanted to know what everyone else has heard.

I am about 1 room short of the "free reception" deal, so I am thinking of booking an additional room because it is less expensive to book a room for 3 nights versus pay for the reception (@ $400/table of ten). Now I am thinking I should have gotten a photographer from outside. I know it is VERY short notice, but can anyone give me some names to see if any of them are available?

THANKS!!!

Give Tammara of Tamm's Photos a try. There are a few ladies here, including myself, who are booking her & her husband for their wedding. Her prices are very reasonable.

You'll have to book her a two-nights stay as she does a full day photo shoot on your wedding day and a honeymoon shoot either the day before of the day after. Which might also help you meet your room minimum for the free reception!

You can contact her on her site at Tamm's Photos - Contact to see if she is available.

Good luck!

SORRRY I have been MIA. I have been working a lot!, but I am happy to see more brides in the forum!!!

Anyway, for photographers, I liked Elizabeth Medina, Del Sol Photography, Juan Carlos Tapia (these are all 4k or more). Something more affordable would be Lydia, and she is probably available Lidya Solemidt

You can also check cecilia dumas, I liked her pictures, but I don't think she ever e-mailed me with a price quote (but I know it is not that expensive as the first ones I mentioned).

Since you are paying for a room, you can get someone from back home that is interested in going to Cancun, and you guys can work an agreement where they pay the flight, or you pay them less since you are paying for room (I had many people interested in doing this).
