ROR Welcome dinner other than St. Ann's?

I just got back from ROR and they have gone back to waiting in line for a reservation - needless to say we did not bother had too much fun to have to stand in line

You don't necessarily have to have a welcome dinner. You can have a welcome breakfast, lunch, or you can have welcome drinks/cocktail hour at one of the bars.


I never thought of having a wedding breakfast that is a great idea. So the WC can reserve that for a group prior to the wedding or would we have to wait in line with the rest of the resort?

There weren't any lines on any days when we went to breakfast & we had breakfast every day at St.Ann's. You basically just walk in & seat yourself.
We never had a problem getting a table big enough for our group.
If you decide to have a welcome breakfast, you can ask Chandlyn if she can reserve tables for you at a specific time, or you can simply go down to St.Ann's about 15 minutes before your group & have one of the waiters set aside an area for you & your group.
Just make sure you are clear as to what time breakfast is served. If you get down there too late, St.Ann's will be closed!

Yes, St.Ann's is buffet. In the morning there's breakfast with all kinds of bkfst food, from pancakes, to eggs/made to order omlettes, sausage, bacon, waffles, muffins, fruit, juices & smoothies.
It then closes & reopens for dinner, which is the same thing, all types of food, from jamaican dishes such as jerk chicken, stew beef, oxtails, fish, rice, veggies, desserts, etc, to "american" food. Some nights are theme nights and they'll have something different.

All in all, besides Mammee Bay the night of the wedding, we ate at St.Ann's all the time, for breakfast & dinner. My guests enjoyed the food & I was glad that I had the welcome dinner there, since there was a variety. The only other restaurant we went to was the Japanese one & it was good.

We actually decided to do something a bit different than a welcome dinner. Since our guests are arriving at different times, we thought we would wait until the next morning and have a "welcome breakfast" at St. Ann's, that way people have some time to settle in?

We had our rehearsal dinner at Mammee Bay Steakhouse. I just emailed Chandlyn in advance to set aside an area for 30 people, and they did it with no problems. I wouldn't recommend St. Ann's because the guests get to eat there all the time. It is hard to get reservations at Mammee Bay, and the food is good, so I would suggest having it there.

 

I had a welcome mixer at the Dunn's River Bar. I had Chandlyn set reserve some tables, we put a banner up and just partied in a corner of the bar area. (And I had 94 guests).

Hello Ladies! I just got an email from Chandlyn and I am not able to have my "Welcome Breakfast". I was hoping instead of a welcome dinner we could do a welcome breakfast but she said that she couldn't reserve that many seats (50) during breakfast time. We are still going to have it, we will just have to get some tables near each other?

I think that if you all get there at the same time you'll be fine & they should be able to seat you together. The earlier you get there, probably the better!
