I think you should tell her that you forgot about the concert and made other plans through work. I would also tell her sooner than later - maybe she can find someone to go with her. If she bought the ticket before she even asked you it's not your fault.

Maybe she'll be so mad she'll stay away.

You guys are so right....I should tell her why. Especially since I heard that her last best friend just stopped talking to her and she has no idea why.

Okay how should I do it....call her on the phone, have dinner with her? I am such a chicken shit but I have to do this.

Harty is right, I think u should talk to her and tell her the truth

Explain to her that you completely forgot the concert and that u are sorry but that u are partcipating in a 5k with your company...

I also, think you should let her down softly...since she might be depressed you should really tell that u are not trying to be mean or anything that she has a problem and that she should look into professsional help regarding Depression.

let her know that her negativity is really draining you and that you will perfer to stop being friends until she changes or gets help...

I definate think you should have the talk in a semi-public place, just in case she start crying or something, u really do not want her to feel bad in front of random people

and u really don't know how metally stable she is if u do the talk in private...

I think semi-public place like a coffee shop or a small deli will be the best

Regardless if you really do not what to remain friends with her at least u tried to help her out in some way by telling her the truth and suggesting she need help
