Am I the only one terrified of getting my dress altered?

Technically yes and no. :)

If it fits you in length, then your corset can make up for flexs in size- up to a point! I lost a bit too much weight and my BMs really had to work to get that baby tightened up as much as it could go.

I also had my hips taken in just cause I thought it looked too big. I wanted to take in the sides because I was worried that it would be too loose but my seamstress talked me out of it. Surprising huh? LOL

That is TOTALLY me! I am a MAJOR control freak! I feel like I am throwing one of my kids to the wolves! LOL! Just a little over 2 months and yes...the nerves are setting in!

OMG Sylvia - what happened? You have like 2 weeks! Are you excited?

I have no idea...but like Rachel said...maybe the sides might stick out if you've lost too much weight. YIKES!!

ok, maybe i'm nervous about alterations.

ACTUALLY you know what i'm the MOST nervous about? staying the same weight from alterations time to wedding time. what if i gain 3 lbs and the dress doesn't fit? or a loose 5 and it doesn't fit?
Tara - OMG YES - that's it too! Aaaahh! I swear - I think I made myself sick yesterday over this! Maybe this could be a good thing...I'll be so nervous I won't eat and will lose some more weight! Hahaha!

My dress has been at the bridal salon since i bought it. I actually thought it was safer there than my house. I fear that when i get it home, i'll be walking in the door with it and my dogs will jump up and rip it. I've replayed that vision in my head quite a few times.

I have my first dress fitting on monday. My major concern is that when i bought my dress i LOVED it, last time i tried it on I didn't like it on me anymore. I'm afraid i won't like my dress even if it's fitted properly.

Oops! Sorry Tara. I meant to make you all feel better. My dress had to be taken in so much because the stupid store convinced me to order it in the larger sizes. You know- I was a different size in my hips and waist so they had me order to my largest size. Stupid- cause it's a corset. Anyways, I lost a few pounds and it ended up a tad too big in my opinion. We had to seriously tighten it over and over.

But as for worrying about the alterations, I get that. I worried too. I was trying to say to not worry about it until you have to. Nothing you can do in the meantime. Just trust your seamstress- they are professionals. If she f's it up, then chew her ass. :)

Yeah - that's what I did - I ordered it larger to ensure proper boob coverage and it's too big in the bust.

If she screws it up - I swear - I will totally go crazy on her! They don't make my dress anymore! Plus the bodice is lace - once you cut - there is no going back!
