Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Of course I totally understand. My FI's grandma hates boats and we were frighten to tell her about it. When we finally did she was like, well I hate boats but I am not missing this wedding. It was so cute.

My 88-year old grandmother came to our wedding just four months after open-heart surgery! She was fine. I talked to Nicole in advance and she told me that they have these "all-terrain" wheelchairs, and some very handsome men who push them too. Ha!

Grandma is a TOTAL spitfire and insisted on walking from the boat to the beach for the wedding (slowly, with my cousin Matt escorting her)... and then she did a blessing for us during the ceremony in both English and Spanish! What a rock star.

After the wedding was over, she asked the very cute guys from Vallarta Adventures to push her back to the boat in the chair... they took about a 10-minute head start and made great time.

Talk to Nicole or Kelley and I'm sure they can help you out. Good luck!
:) Sarah

I talked to my FMIL today and my mom and apparently all grandparents are working on getting passports and booking flights! Which (don't get me wrong) is great BUT having them come makes me concerned because both my grandma and FI's grandma do not get around too easily....the terrain at Las Caletas combined with the boat ride has me a bit frazzled today!!! They all know about the boat ride...my bigger concern is getting to the ceremony location at LC....

My grandparent's both went. They are both younger (70's) or maybe I meant young at heart. rockon.gif Anyways, my grandpa has a bad knee- probably needs some surgical intervention soon. He made it from the boat to the ceremony fine. One thing- the boat arrived late so they had to be rushed. THat made it a bit harder on them and I know he was hurting. I didn't find this out until a few days after the wedding when he kinda grumbled. Soo I guess what I'm trying to say- It's all good in the hood. Just give them plenty of time to get there. :) And if they aren't too proud (like mine!) a wheelchair is readily available.

Yari - this totally sounds like my Grandparents reaction too. They are worriers (esp my G-ma) and say that my family is prone to sea-sickness (never knew this!?) but they will be there no matter what

lol sorry but this totally reminds me of my Grandpa - he loves to "grumble". Everytime we go out to eat he orders EXTRA lemons (I think you could bring him 20 and he'd be happy) with his iced tea and if he doesn't get them he totally grumbles and as we say he "gets his feathers ruffled" LOL gotta love 'em wink.gif

My grandmother came to our July wedding at LC. She is upper 70's, has had a stroke, and is a diabetic (as if this matters). She did just fine. She just moved slowly and watched her step getting on/off the boat and using any stairs. There wasn't a single problem for her.

She actually insisted on coming to the group snorkel/scuba most everyone was going on. This was the Las Marietas tour that takes you from the big boat onto a little speed boat to "paradise beach" on the second half of the tour. So the boat landed on the beach with strong waves, sea weed, coral, etc crashing against it. The kids even had trouble getting from the boat to the shore. One of the smallest Vallarta Adventures guys picked my grandmother up and out of the boat and carried her to the shore. Just another example that anyone from Vallarta Adventures will go above and beyond to help everyone in your group!

okay...so my mom is going to kill me...but I really want to change my location to Las Caleta's... I am in love with it, I have already set a wedding date of June 12 at the Palladium in Riviera Maya...and I think June is rainny in PV.. I just have a few questions for you guys, I went through this post but there are quite a few pages..

1. Is there an extra costs for guests to take the boat over to the wedding?

2. What hotels do people stay at?

3. How far is PV from Riviera Maya, could my guests still stay at the PAlladium?

4. We are getting a rate of 91$ per person per nite at the Palladium (AI) is there something like this in the PV area?

Is June too rainy?

Sorry for all the questions, but if I am going to change locations i need to get on it... I am nervous and scared!! help..

1. Is there an extra costs for guests to take the boat over to the wedding? No, but there is an extra cost to have a shuttle take your guests to the marina if you want to go that route. (I Did)

2. What hotels do people stay at? You can basically stay anywhere in PV. Mine are staying at Hotel Tropicana.

3. How far is PV from Riviera Maya, could my guests still stay at the PAlladium? That I do not know.

4. We are getting a rate of 91$ per person per nite at the Palladium (AI) is there something like this in the PV area?My rate is $89 a night, but it's not an AI

Is June too rainy?I don't know...I think the rainy season starts at the end of June.

Sorry for all the questions, but if I am going to change locations i need to get on it... I am nervous and scared!! help..

Good luck!!!

Hi everyone!!

My name is Shannon and I'm a newbie to this site. After reading through all 101 pages of this thread I am definitely considering Las Caletas for our wedding. My FI and I live in Calgary Canada and have family all over Canada so we are doing a destination wedding.

I can't believe I never though of Las Caletas before finding this site!! We went there last year when we were in Puerto Vallarta to see Rhythms of the Night.

I've emailed Kelley and received a quote back so now all I have to do is convince FI that this is the place for us!

I can't wait to book it...I'm sure I'll have a million questions for you all!
