ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

thx guys, I just hope we can do something like that. Maybe we'll have to get some sort of posts so that the light can actually be strung from them. I think the garden area is very large, so I'm not sure what else they could attach it to... I'll have to contact Zulma and ask...

Hey girls! We initially planned our ceremony to be on the beach but we changed it to the gazebo. It is August after all, and 95 degrees outside. The sun and humidity is just to much to take. We are glad that we changed it...and I'm pretty sure that our guests were happy as well. For our reception on the beach, we were provided with tiki torches. There were receptions in the garden while we were here, but they didn't even compare to our reception on the beach. We wanted the breeze though because, again....it is August and very hot! If you have any questions, Please let me know. I'll be happy to help!

I LOVE your ideas...I hope they are able to work something out for you to capture that beauty.
Shay,
I saw a few receptions on the beach while I was there and they all had tiki torches. I can't remember if they had strung lights or not, but they had those under table lights which makes the whole area look really nice at night since everything just glows. Plus they had little portable lights around and I think special lighting for the dance floor. I'm pretty sure this is the basic set up since I saw it a few times but it looks just gorgeous. Remember, they are really experienced with all the weddings that they do, so they really know how to make the place look amazing. This is one area I wouldn't worry about. If I had to do it again, I'd leave the decor up to them! They seemed to have a gorgeous setup for every reception I saw there.

If you have a beach reception, you will have beach chairs pretty much surrounding the reception area, but by that time no one is really sitting out there anyways.

See! What would we do without you experienced Royals?! I'll certainly ask Micaela about the lighting (and the under table lighting sounds...nothing short of fabulous)...and keep my fingers crossed that it is just part of the standard of what they'll do for us...

I guess right now...I'm just worried, I won't think to ask about something that seems obvious...like...table setup...and lighting...those little things that you would think would just be included and lovely...but...what if they aren't?! If I asked about everything, I'd be asking thousands of questions!

SARAH!! Have you posted your planning/review post at all?

Just wanted to let you know I emailed Micaela a while back and asked what is the standard set up in a beach reception. She specifically said under table lighting is included and I was so excited. I know no flowers are included in for the tables, but they do provide votives and tiki torches around the reception site. Hope this helps a little!

OH yea and the standard centerpieces are hurricane candles. If you don't want to spend too much $$ on centerpieces, having the hurricane candles with some rose petals scattered around would look really pretty, but if it's windy, they might blow away.

Hi girls! I feel like I know so much about you because I just spent 2 hours reading through this entire thread! Although we haven't decided on our site yet, ROYAL is really high on our list so you all have provided SO MUCH helpful info. I do have a few questions though...

SHAY-would you be willing to email me the flower info? I'll send you my email in a PM if you're willing.

tchuchuca-would you be willing to email me the pics Micaela sent you of the gazebo and arch?

I've run out of points to download things. Already I need to store up so I can get a couple more docs that you gals posted earlier. That's why I'm asking for the emails, if you'd be willing.

Because it takes so long to get all this info from Micaela, I'd like to have it right in front of me BEFORE I make any hard and fast decision. I've gotta know what things are going to cost before I make any sort of commitment, you know?

Thanks so much everyone! I've already gained SO MUCH fantastic info from you all. I REALLY appreciate it!
