Most likely not. You need to ask specifically for this usually. Also, blood work does not ALWAYS reveal hypothyroidism. My bloodwork was actually in a somewhat "normal" range, though my doc thinks that is too low "for me". I had all the symptoms.

Have not gotten in yet to see a dentist about the "cavitation" but hoping to soon!

Still having good days and bad days.

I'm still on 15mg of Armour Thyroid 2x/day plus a lot of other supplements (Vit C, D, Drenamin which is an Adrenal Complex, B12 and something called Frequensea). Also still on pain meds. It's a crazy roller coaster but I am hoping to get more answers after I get into see one of those special dentists...

That's it on my end for now.

Martha glad you are doing ok. I agree it's smart not to switch things up until after Noah is born. Then you might try the Armour and see if that works for you. I have read a lot of studies on Synthroid vs. Armour and am convinced Armour is the right one for me and for anyone else who is open to taking it (not many docs prescribe it tho). However, to each their own and if you are having success then that's all that matters!!!! grouphug.gif

Jaime, How is the Armour working for ya? I ran out of refills on my Synthroid, so I got my doctor to refill it for one more month. I need to go in and see him after Noah is born for lab work...but I think I need to look at my other options.

How ya feeling?

Hey Martha - the Armour is working ok. My body temp is up which is good.

Mainly, they think that the hypothyroidism is related to the cavitation in my jawbone (from the wisdom tooth removal May '07). I'm having surgery tomorrow to get that taken care of (thought I had posted updates of that in this thread already, but guess I didn't. Silly me... so many threads to keep up with!) Sooo I'm reaaallly hoping that this takes care of the hypothyroidism. It may not though - we'll see.

I will continue to take the Armour though. I must say I did have more energy after taking it (I also take topically applied iodine, which is supposed to help the Armour work). I do still get weighed down very easily (again, they think this is related to the jawbone cavitation - most likely the toxins have leaked out into my lymphatic system and other various organs) I am on a very low dosage - like .5/grain? I'll say one thing about the Armour - if you're on too much then you'll know for sure!! Let's just say you'll be "running to the bathroom" - haha wink.gif

Have you given any more thought about switching to Armour now that Noah has arrived?

Hello.

I went and had a full run of tests for my thyroid after my personal trainer suggested it becuase I was experiencing some issues. In the past I have had the regular thyroid check during a physical but the tests I had done this time were more extensive. It turns out that my thyroid is not only underactive but I have a whole bunch of hormonal junk out of wack. So.. .I started taking "thyroid armour" about 3 weeks ago. This is a more holistic approach to treating the issue.

I am wondering of anyone had any expereince with "thyroid armour" and what it was like. In addition to this daily pill I am on a slew of supplements to try and get everything back in balance. While I am happy that I finally have an answer to the root of my issues- I am hoping that this will do the trick so i can avoid the usual medical approach (synthroid). Either way, I will have to take this forever I think.

What were my issues?

-exhaustion (beyond the norm- like I could fall asleep anywhere) Also feeling incredibly exhausted in the morning- beyond the norm.

-weight gain (working out like a fiend, watching my diet and there was a gain)

-extremes in body temp (I would be fine walking to the subway and when I got on i would have a serious hot flash and be drenched. very embarassing)

-constipation (this was my biggest problem. not fun)

-sore joints

-interrupted sleep

*I would love to hear anyone's experience with this medication- or any others*

I am still on Armour (very low dosage) and doing well with it. I've been dieting, yet my boobs have gotten bigger!! LOL I chalk that up to the Thyroid medicine, which is wonderful! wink.gif

Unfortunately I have other health issues that are still undiagnosed, so I'm still not "well" yet. But overall am happy with the Armour :)
