Where to download music for IPOD

Recommended Posts

Please forgive me if this has been answered, but I've been searching the IPOD posts until I'm going cross-eyed and couldn't find my answer. I downloaded all of our wedding songs from Limewire and burned CD's just to hear the quality of the songs. Most of the songs sound great, but other songs sound like complete crap! I know that before you download the song, it tells you the quality, but all the songs I downloaded said they were all good quality. Do you recommend that I do the whole ITUNES thing and pay .99 per song, or is there another way that's cheaper? Thank you ladies :)

I use limewire. I have a real computer genius of a FI so he's always showed me what to do. You want good quality, but you shouldn't have a song w/ a size over 5000 and a bitrate of 128 is good. Also make sure you download w/ one that has multiple hosts. Once I download them I just listen to them on my computer instead of burning to a cd. If its good I download it to my iPod if not I erase it. Some people are very concerned about spyware but I never have an issue due to all the stuff my FI has put on my computer. I just download rather than paying for every song.

Hmmm....My FI is a computer wiz as well and I've followed the guidelines. Some of the songs are still crappy quality although they're in that range and have multiple-hosts. And the problem is, I listened to every single song on the computer first and they all sounded great, (that's why I burned them) I suppose I'll just pay the .99 to ensure good quality. Thanks for your post :)

No problem! It's a bit more confusing than limewire because it's actually an application. Then you have to go on a downloading website like torrents.to and download the file, then open it in bittorent to start the actual download. Kinda complicated but if you want some help, let me know! I like this one because you can download entire albums at a time, and it's pretty quick. And free :)

I downloaded a lot of my CD's that I had at home to my computer and also some of my friends CD's and then I added them to my IPOD.

I got a lot of my songs from itunes though. I don't mind paying for them since I only download a few at a time usually. Except for the wedding, I think I might have spent $30 downloading songs that I wanted. So, I didn't think that was too bad. I used to spend a lot on CD's and only like 1 or 2 songs, so 99 cents for songs I really want isn't really too bad. Good Luck!
