STD RSVP's??

Did anyone send out RSVP's with their STD's? I'm thinking of adding a postcard to return for people who think they can attend or not just so we know on how many invites to make and send out.

Does this seem weird since it's a STD and not an actual invitation?

This has been talked about in the past. You might find something by searching. I would make an RSVP on the STD more like a "Let us know if you are interested." STDs are sent out far in advance so people don't always know if they will be able to come or not or what their situation is. Maybe put a spot on your website to let people tell you if they want to come. You could send out invites earlier and have an earlier RSVP on that.

I am asking people to let me know their tentative decision because my travel agent needs to know an approximate # so we know about how many ppl to put down for when we preregister (like putting our name on the 'first come first serve' list to put our deposits down). We know there will be ppl won't be able to commit yet, but like i said, I'm just asking for their tentative plans.

Tentative was the word I was looking for! For some reason I couldn't say what I meant...

We asked for a preliminary RSVP via our wedding website on our STD's.

It's not a bad idea. But in the same breath, you'll have to realize that you can't hold people to it. So don't be upset when people tell you they'll be there and in the end just can't.

On our website, we are making sure people know that when they RSVP it's only to get a general number because "it's easier to take away from the total # of guest than to add"
