What time are/did you start(ing) your ceremony?

Recommended Posts

Sunset in PV varies depending on the season. We're getting married next April and I'd like to know if 3pm is too early to have our ceremony if sunset is at 7pm? Ideally I'd like to have everyone seated by sunset, but cocktails to take place during.

We are getting married in one place (Hacienda San Angel) and then moving on to another place (Casa Valerie) which I think is 20 minutes away. I'm curious to know what time is ideal to provide time for cocktails, photos, meet/greet, etc.

Is 3pm a bit too ambitious?

If I were you, I'd do 5pmish. 3pm might be a little to hot- especially if it's full sun. Just my thoughts though. :)
Thank you for responding. Your feedback really helps.

OMG Kisa Casa Valerie was our #1 choice when we pondered the villa wedding, I've never seen anyone else talk about it let alone book it. Too cool!

We went with Las Caletas because it was dear to us but definitely scoped out Casa Valerie. What a stunning place, I can't wait to see your pictures (next year)!

As for your question, I agree with Rachel. 3 pm is prime sun time and I think if you move it back at least to 5pm you and your guests will appreciate it.

Happy planning :)

Hi!

We are getting married at the El Dorado Seaside Suites in Mayan Riveira and our ceremony is set to start at 5:00 pm. We opted for this time hoping it wouldn't be **AS** hot and not too much time before our dinner starts. Our private reception dinner is set to start at 7:00 p.m. so we will have about 1.5 hours for pictures/mingling etc. and by then it should be just about sunset.

It is hard to decide, but I would say 4-5 pm would be ideal and I guess it also depends on how much your resort will let you dictate.

Good luck!punk.gif

Hi Kisa,

We are set for 5:30. I agree that 3pm might be mega hot but if you are in a shady spot won't be too bad. You also may want to check with your photographer- mine requested later in the day for better lighting which I agree with.

Hey there I was just in PV in May and the sun sets at 8:21pm in May and I believe only about 20 minutes earlier in April. At 3pm it is very very HOT there sun is centered in the sky and it is HOT. Did I say it is HOT.

My WC suggested at 6pm or 6:30pm ceremony. That way we are done by 7pm our Cocktails hour starts at 7:30pm latest and dinner at 8:30pm just as the sun sets....

Best of Luck

Kathy
