Question for Photographers....

Curious, what photography forums are you a member of? There's a crapload of them out there, and rather than sign up, monitor them for awhile, and then decide which ones I would frequently read.... I thought I'd ask you guys!

I'd like to find ones that has a good mix of photographers (fine arts, portraits, wedding, commercial, stock, etc...)--- where there's good discussion of equipment, technical content, and most importantly- where there's a good amount of responsiveness and willingness to help people develop their abilities. I've been on a couple now where the competition was strong enough that pros don't really like to critique/comment because they view it as helping a competitor take future business from them...

Anyways, feel free to PM any input, if you'd like. I appreciate any help I can get!

They are very willing to help a noob. Critiques are friendly & constructive. Rarely does it get dirty & when it does the thread gets closed.

There are a Ton, you are right. I'm a member of several, but for what you want you might want to visit the Flickr wedding photography group, or OSP. The DWF is the biggest, but only let pros in. There are many others, the key is to lurk for a while and then when you are ready sign up. I feel that if you have to pay, it's probably not worth it.

That's easy, I actually run a photography forum called Learning Digital Photography Together. It's totally free, but you do have to participate (100 posts) to get into the business area.

Our members are mainly hobbyists and people who have started side businesses shooting photography. Only a couple of Pros. We're not one of those huge, overwhelming, intimidating forums. Our members are very helpful and supportive of one another.
