I just stayed at the Mirage June 23rd to 25th to preview my wedding sites and sample cake. I posted a review below as an update. Our room was very modern and the bed was one of the best I have ever slept in.

I went to Vegas a few years ago for my Dad's union meeting. My Mom, sister and I drove down (3 day trip each way) and stayed at Bally's. I have never been to Vegas before and I haven't been there since, but I liked the hotel. The room was nice and big, the bathroom was nice and the pool want' really anything special, but it wasn't dirty or gross. When we were there we basically only slpet in the room and that is it, as we spent all day out on the strip and checking out all the other hotels. My sister was only 10 at the time, so we were limited on certain things we could do, but the evenings were filled with a dinner and activities that the union had arranged for the families.

The one hotel I wouldn't stay at - Excalibur. We got lost in this casino and it took us almost an hour to find our way out the right door. If I never set foot in that casino again, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

A hotel that I want to stay at - Luxor. I just love the looks of it, and I want to ride in the elevators that go at an angle. Corny...yes, but I am fine with that! LOL

blk is right-the Mirage is a good hotel. It is average priced. Its the first resort hotel on the strip but it is still good. I personally prefer Bellagio-but ONLY when I get it cheap ( or the one time I flew for free, i spent extra for bellagio). I think you will be fine at the Mirage! Its good, clean, good casino also!!! Good restaurants rigth there also!

omh-I know you from Las Vegas Wedding Chapel Reviews, Pictures, Packages, Marriage License Laws, Elvis! Good to see you here too!!! Pm me anytime :) ( we are on the CVW thread-I use the same name here and there)

EXCALIBUR I've ALWAYS stayed here, since I was a kid. And I never really had any problems. The last time I went however, was disgusting. There was hair in my bed! The towels also all had a black mark on them. I'd call for a new towels and it would all be the same! I never stayed there again.

Monte Carlo I was never a fan of the Monte Carlo resort since there's really nothing there... but they had a promo last summer (you saved a BUNCH of money AND it was in a suite) so me and my boyfriend stayed there for his birthday. The suite was HUGE. I mean... HUGE. It had two bathrooms! The bed was comfy and everything was nice and clean.

I'll be staying at Ceasers Palace this year for my wedding (yay, dream come true lol) so I'll edit this later with details on that!

It just opened in March so I have no idea what it is like. I believe it is an all suite hotel...rooms all have kitchenettes and the best thing that I liked is that there is no casino on site and it is a non-smoking hotel. During prior stays at other Vegas hotels the smoke fumes that hit you as soon as you hit the main areas is nauseating. For my wedding night and the few days we will be there before we leave for the Hawaii honeymoon I prefer not to be in a hotel crowded with gamblers. I figure we can easily walk to plenty of nearby hotel casinos if we desire.

Update on the Trump...since wedding is now long over and I've actually stayed there :) We got the Trump for a steal as I booked about when they first started taking bookings and had major discounts as it is a new hotel. If you can get a good deal the place was amazing! It was right by the Fashion Mall and across from the Wynn. We checked in after our wedding reception coming back from Lake Las Vegas still in our wedding gear...and they upgraded us to a luxury penthouse suite. It was amazing! It was so awesome we had to invite friends over the next night for some drinks to share the space. We had a kitchen, living room, amazing views overlooking the Strip, the gigantic luxury bathroom was off the hook! My hubby is 6'5 and I am 6' and we both could fit in the gigantic jacuzzi tub. They also had a gigantic shower with multiple showerheads...(where we consummated the marriage :)) and an LCD TV in the mirror in the bathroom. I loved the Trump and would definitely stay there again. We liked that there was no casino there...so not overcrowded lobby...just hotel guests and their guests. When we did want to gamble...we linked up with guests across the street at the Wynn. Having the Fashion Mall next door was nice also. I bought some things for the honeymoon that I had forgotten to pack.

The Ritz at Lake Las Vegas was amazing also. They also upgraded us to a more luxurious suite.

PLANET HOLLYWOOD - i loved my stay there! large bathroom and fairly decent sized room in general and the shopping was great at the shops! Spice Market Buffet was on of the better buffets I've had in Vegas.

TREASURE ISLAND (TI) - smaller hotel compared to everywhere else but of the most comfy beds ever. The free show 'Sirens of TI' is really good and you get access to the VIP area for a great view of the show. Buffet was not that great and not much selection for food choices there. Very small pool area.

LUXOR - I did not like Luxor at all - very smoky and the elevators in the pyramid felt like they were going to just stop working. Older hotel so you get what you pay for. Good gambling - pool scene was not bad - they were filming a movie/show while we were there.

IMPERIAL PALACE - never again! Buffet was not good, rooms were old and creepy and the hotel in general is in need of a good reno - sure it's a cheap place to stay but i would not stay there again.

I heart vegas :)

I go with girlfriends and we always stay at the Hard Rock (for the people and the atmosphere, but its expensive).

Otherwise the MGM is a great choice, Mirage is ok, Mandalay Bay/THE Hotel is really nice.

I would stay away from planet hollywood, formerly the aladdin, worst pool in vegas I think.

I have a friend looking at Vegas for a wedding so I popped over here to see what kind of info was on the forum. Here's my $.02 on hotels...

We almost always stay at Mandaly Bay/THE. Fabulous rooms, fabulous pool, love the Eye Candy bar and Foundation Room. That was our back up if the Mexico DW fell through.

For DH's 30th brithday we booked a large group at TI and did a pirate themed weekend. The rooms are super nice and we enjoyed the pool. The cabana was upscale, they had a DJ and was a chill party atmosphere (minus all of the meat heads you see at Rehab, Wet Republic, etc.)

And agreed that Planet Hollywood's pool is really bad.

After typing this I'm ready for a Vegas weekend!
