Aisle runner for Beach gazebo

Did anyone use an aisle runner? i was thinking about using b/c i didn't want the bottom of my dress to get full of sand.. want to use dress for AHR for a little bit to make a change... into the another slinky dress...

 

for those of you that used one, do you think a fabric one is ok? how did it pan out with the sand and rose petals, etc...

I did use an aisle runner but my dress still had sand in it. I did have rose petals scattered over the aisle runner but with the wind, the petals really blew away.

I think that no matter how hard you try, you will end up with some sand on or in your dress. Keep in mind you have to walk on the beach in the sand before you even get to where the aisle & aisle runner would be. Also, if you plan on taking pictures on the beach you will undoubtedly get sandy!

It all really depends on what you want & the look you're trying to achieve. In hindsight, I probably could've done with out the runner!
You definitely don't have to worry about the sand ruining your dress. I didn't have a problem at all.

this is useful information. I'm worried about tripping on the aisle runner. should I be concerned about this? Also did you guys wear flip flops or barefoot. I'm worried that with flip flops I'll be kicking sand under my dress

If you are getting married on the beach, I personally would suggest you wear flip flops or barefoot

I had no problem with the aisle runner once I made my way to the aisle. My problem was just walking in the sand itself on the way to the aisle & ceremony site. I wore flip flops but they weren't totally flat, but were kinda wedge like which caused me to be kinda fumbly. I really had to resist the urge to kick them off while I walked.
I definitely suggest flat flip flops, or going barefoot. If you do wear any kind of flip flop with a heel or wedge, I'd definitely practice walking in them on the beach & in the sand a day before the wedding, just to get an idea of what you're in for.

We used one because it looked nice with the whole setup. Sand in, on, up, your dress is a given no matter how hard you may try it's impossible. Don't even make the effort. When I took my dress off that night we had a sand pile in our suite. I thought about changing into another dress. But after trying my dress on for the first time, I didn't want to take it off. Plus after spending all the money on one dress I wanted to wear the heck out of it.

we didn't choose an aisle runner b/c the WC said it would be the same as walking on the sand, so we just had rose petals as an aisle...I wore flat sandals that were OK to walk in on the sand...

thanks ladies.......im going with the barefoot look but w/ the foot jewelry ...i think im not going to do an aisle runner...just a lot of flowers in the aisle...

I wore barefoot sandals. We were up in arms about whether or not we shoudl bring rose petals or get an aisle runner. But we said screw it, we opted for the free setup and no aisle runner and it was absolutely fabulous. Some things you can really go without because being on the beach in Jamaica is beautiful in itself, it really doesn't need a whole lot added. And if you are like us, we figured we could use the money spent on that on something we really wanted either in Jamaica or back home.

so Butlergirl, the way you had the tulle wrapped, drapped and hung from the gazebo was the free setup? If so i really like... i have copied your pic and Courtney's pic as my choices...
