Honestly not sure mine will either! But I had to have at least one DIY project to feel deserving of the DW Bride title!

Hi Ann- When you can, can you post instructions on how you created your bags? TIA

I got my bags from Alikani (sp?). I got the large bags but I only ordered 15. They are TOO SMALL. But I found a use for them. I can use them for my champagne brunch and put the little gifts in it. But now I have to order more lol lol b/c my aunt invited 50 women. They are nice bags but too small for welcome bags, gift bags YES but big enough not for all the stuff I want to put it.

thayt's interesting Sherri - and those are the bags i was going to order too - but the medium ones! I am glad I went w/the canvas.

honestly, there isn't much to what I did. but here's what I can remember:

1) buy the bags (duh)

2) buy the transfer paper. i believe there is a different type for dark vs. light fabric, my bags were light so i bought the appropriate paper. sarah (sassygirl) did dark, so she may have more info for doing black/dark bags. i bought mine at Office Depot, i think it was like $19 for 12 sheets. i am sure you can find it cheeper.

3) find a way to flip your design. i first copied it into Microsoft Paint (it's free, and i had it already!) - there's probably a better tool. but anyway ... to flip it I just went to Image > Flip/Rotate and selected Flip Horizontal

4) I then copied the flipped design into MS Word

5) in order to print out 2 monograms on the transfer paper, i resized the monogram to make it 1/2 the size of the page, then copied and pasted so that there were 2 on a page. attached is the word doc. i used

6) i then printed on scratch paper (not the transfer paper) to test out the design and see if i liked the size, colors, etc. I even held it inside the bag, and held the bag up to some light so i could see what it looked like

7) once I was happy, i printed 1 transfer paper w/my desgin. i wanted to finish a bag completely before moving ahead w/printing all of them! from here i really followed the instructions that came w/the paper.

cool.gif for the first bag, i just cut the paper in half, so each design was on 1/2 a piece of paper. then i ironed it on according to the paper's instructions.

9) for all following bags, i spent the time to cut as much of the blank paper off around the monogram as possible so you don't see the "plastic-y" stuff on the bag. this part i think they should mention in the paper instructions!

10) if you do add a 2nd piece to your bags like i did w/the "Flowergirl" text, I'd suggest ironing both parts on at the same time. if you try to go back and add the 2nd piece, you can't iron over the first one and it makes it a little more tricky.

I really hope that makes sense, and helps someone out! Let me know if you have any questions!

Ann those turned out really well.. Great job... I decided to do a simple bag for my oot bags.. And I'm going to do some sort of logo on it.. Still trying to figure that out..

BTW, I have a question for you girls regarding OOT bags... So my best friend, her Boyfriend and her mother are going to Cabo now... (I used to know her Ma really well when I was growing up) Well so of course I'm inviting her ma to our wedding and dinner, but should I get her an OOT bag? I mean she wasn't "actually" invited to the wedding... What would you do?
