Anyone else moving to different resort for honeymoon?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else done this or going to be doing this? Am I going to regret it? We are getting married at Riu Palace Mexico and staying there 7 nights (5 before the wedding and 2 after the wedding.) Then we are moving to the Royal Hideaway for the last four days/three nights before we come home. We've already booked it so it's a done deal.

Just wondering if anyone has done this or is planning on doing this. I'm worried about the challenges of packing up and moving, getting to know a new resort, etc. The Royal Hideaway is supposed to be nicer and we wanted to move so we could feel like we were having real "honeymoon" time, separate and different from the wedding. I'm nervous though because I have just heard from one bride that she and her husband regretted moving because they were treated so well by their first resort that even though their second resort was more upscale, that they weren't treated with that special "bride and groom" treatment they got at the first place so they were disappointed and wish they had stayed at the first place.

I'd love to hear your opinions on it.

We are getting married at dreams cancun and then moving to El Dorado Royale. I liked the idea of moving because it will feel more like a honeymoon and EDR is more upscale and adults only and its in a different area so we'll get to see more parts of mexico. I'm not really worried about being somewhere different, I think we'll still be treated well. Royal Hideway looks awesome, I had looked into that one as well.

We're staying at Dreams for 6 nights then moving to PB Sunset Beach in Cabo. I can't be more excited! I am sure that I will slightly regret not having an AI, but I absolutely love the PB property. It's very quiet and romantic!

I felt that it was really important to remove myself from the wedding environment since we'll be there just shy of 2 weeks. Repacking will be a bummer, but I hate to do that anyway. So don't worry! Things will be just fine. Scream that you're a newlywed every chance that you get... your bound to get good treatment eventually. You'll be glad of the scenery change after a while!
