So I sent out my Passport STDs for Mexico. I sent out some stds to people I knew would not come to Mexico. In fact, most of the people I sent them to won't be there but felt like I needed to. One of my friends said she got my Un-vitation. I had to ask her what that meant. I remembered the Seinfeld episode after she brought it up about how Elaine got an invite to a wedding in India that they really didn't want her to go to. So of course she goes. Here is the link it is so funny

So my question is, do you still send invites to people you know won't be able to come? I thought it would be rude to not send them one. And do you still send them to people you don't want to go really? How did you all do it? How funny is it that someone actually brought up this video...it is true.

I would send invites to friends and family that you would love to attend but can't. However, do not send invites to people you wouldn't invite normally thinking they won't go anyhow. Believe me, people have a way of surprising you and being able to come even though you didn't think there would be any way they would intend.

That is so hilarious. Rest assured, I can always find a Seinfeld moment in most of life's situations.

We sent STD to everyone. We are only sending invites to those attending and to "VIP" family who aren't attending like our grandparents. We will send the "masses" an announcement after the wedding.

Be careful who you send info to b/c people will suprise you. Case in point:

I sent STDs to my sister's husband's family last year in April, then in June my sis tells me she is getting a divorce but her husband doesn't want to tell his family until everything is final. Well then his brother and family decide they want to come to my wedding and make it a nice family vacation. I have only met them maybe a total of 5 times in 5 years, so i really only invited them as a courtesy. So it turned into a lot of drama which included me asking my TA to not run thier credit card for the deposit b/c it obviously would have been very akward for them to come to my wedding after the divorce.

I love seinfeld, they have a show for everything!

We went invitations to everyone we would have sent one to if we'd had a normal wedding at home.

I sent mine to everyone. I figured it's better to error on the side of sending it to someone who ouldn't go than to leave out someone who would feel left out. Even with all the un-vitations I sent out, I still missed people (people my mom thinks I should have sent something to). I don't want to send those people an invitation a month prior so I decided to do announcements afterwards. I'm making vistaprint postcards with a collage of wedding pics & a link to where they can see our pictures & videos.

I wouldn't. Only send them to those who you want to be there otherwise all hell will break loose lol you can guarantee that horrible person you never want to go ends up going lol case in point i can bet my life on my FMIL's new hubby going and I'd rather poke my eyes out with a hot poker than be in the same vicinity lmao

Told my aunt to get the poker ready lmao

you're right, AKWARD!!
Yep, they divorced last October. Just a few months after their 1 year anniversary. He held them off from booking for a little while by telling them that the price was expected to go down so everyone was waiting, but then she got tired of waiting and called the TA ready to book, so then he was forced to tell them what was going on. It was a lot of drama and I think my TA thought my entire family was insane. At the same time my dad called her saying that I kept harassing him about getting some sort of "pass" to go to Jamaica and could he get it from her. A PASSPORT!! Now that i think back to last year, man i am glad thats over!!
