I just offically changed my name

jen that's good, one of the last steps to being officially married!

 

carly, that bites! knock him upside the head or something :) you can change it professionally and like on your VM and stuff, just start telling people. that way by the time you get your cert and make it official, everyone will be used to Carly D'! :)

You can mail it in. They have directions on their website. I got confused. LOL smile105.gif I decided it would be easier to wait in line for 2 hours with all the creepies. Your a lawyer- I'm sure you are smart enough to mail it in. :)

Yeah I am dealing with some of this and hubby did change his name too so he is suffering through all this as well. They spelled his name wrong so he has more issues than me.

I hear you about the emotional part, I called someone yesterday and there was a pause while I searched my memory bank for my name--duuuh.

Glenda, because you live in Queens, you can't mail it in. I checked. Apparently, EVERYONE in the country can do this via mail except for a few of us (Queens is one of them.) Check out this info on their website:

Oh you lucky girl. You are right, if you live in Nassau now, you can definitely mail it in. I thought you still lived in Flushing.

Not sure about the US but I would imagine its the same. Do you register your practising certificate (licence i suppose) with what we would call the Law Society? If so you just contact them and they change eveything for you its really easy.

After reading this I am so pleased I'm not changing my name lol
