i HAATE Washington D.C.

well on certain occasions of course you have to drive, however when you live here its not all that bad since you can take the metro most days. And Nikki is right in the City Georgetown is beautiful and at least its got tons of security everywhere you go. I don't think its worse than NYC which personally to me is very gray except for Central Park.

DC is fabulous!! I have lived here for almost 10 years and I love the diversity. I come from a small town (well not so small anymore) near Columbus, Ohio and it was all the same type of people. I love that you can stand on any one street corner in DC and hear so many different languages being spoken. Even though the traffic is horrendous at all hours of the day (and night) and it is very expensive to live, there are so many things to do that are free and there are plenty of beautiful views. We also have some of the best schools in the country. Didn't we have 15 in this area in of the top 100 schools in the country?

JM ~ It really was just the traffic that bothers you huh? I am a very laid back person too and I am on the verge of road rage everyday!! Please don't hate our city. wink.gif

My local radio station was bashing DC last week big time as being a dirty, crime ridden city.

I've only been there once, but I hear you on the traffic thing. I am used to driving in NYC, but I was breaking out into a major sweat driving in DC. I'm pretty sure I know that 3 highways/1 road deal you encountered. I got sooo lost and my GPS is yelling 50 different directions to me at once. I think I almost cried. I also ended up getting lost in a not so great part of the city as well.

But driving and parking aside, I did enjoy myself. I loved the free museums and the zoo.
