That's Trevor! He's 12. He is my soon-to-be stepson, and he is doing a province report on Saskatchewan! He knows we have some girls on here from there, so he asked me to ask you ladies to provide him with some fun facts and info about your province. He is looking for things like local recipes, random little known info, and things that people who live there like to do in their free time.

Lisa (Stormsong) sent me some jam type spread in my secret bunny gift, so i rinsed out the jar and he's going to use that as a visual aide.

Any help you girls could give him would be great! Email me any info at [email protected] or post here in this thread.

Thanks so much!!

I work for the provincial government, I can get an info package mailed to him if you want!

(please note I am not a born and raised Saskatchewanian, I'm from Newfoundland and moved here for work!)

Some random facts about SK:

- The Albert Street Bridge in Regina is in the Guiness Book of World Records as being the longest bridge over the shortest stretch of water.

- The CFL team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, won this year's Grey Cup (it's like Canada's version of the Super Bowl).

- The city of Saskatoon is named after the berry of the same name.

- I live in the city of Moose Jaw, it's claim to fame is that Al Capone bootlegged rum from here in the prohibition era.

- All the trees in Regina were hand-planted, there were no "naturally occuring" trees there.

- Curling is the provincial sport here, and the provincial flower is the tiger lily.

- It's known as the province that's easy to draw but hard to spell (LOL).

Let him know too that Regina is pronounced re-gy-na, not re-gina like the name. Some also call it the "city that rhymes with fun", if you catch my drift!

I'm sure I can come up with some more stuff tomorrow. heatherjones is also from SK, you should try contacting her too.
