Beach Reception to Windy or Hot? Help!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi - I am having my wedding at the Paradisus Punta Cana on July 4th and am driving myself and my WC crazy I m sure :). I have never been to the resort so location has become an issue for me to decide. The beach reception looks lovely but at the same time I dont want my guests sitting in the wind. I heard it is very windy, so maybe ceremony and coktail hour on the beach and then to a restaurant.

Has anyone seen the Gabi bar and would they suggest that setting for a reception with a DJ? I am also thinking about the Marino since it has the Ocean View. Any suggestions? Please Help!!!!!

I got married in Punta Cana in August and I had my reception on the beach and it was perfect. We hardly had any wind on our trip, except for hurricain Dean, lol. The beach feels a little cooler(not much though) then away from the beach. I say go for it and have the beach reception there will be no prettier backdrop:)

pinkie.gifGood to hear that you didnt have too much wind- that is what I was concerned about also - But I figured a little was ok =- I mean it is mother nature- it will not be still and air conditioned, but just like a beach around here once the sun goes down I am sure that it is mostly comfortable. elefant.gif

I didn't get married in the DR but wanted to comment anyways. My beach wedding was both hot and windy, but the combination is what made the weather bearable. If we had gotten married elsewhere on teh resort where there was no wind, we would have been way too hot, but on the beach we were fine!

Our beach reception at PPC was perfect. Not too windy at all and the temperature was great. it was initally set for 5pm, but our WC suggested that morning that we move it to 6:30 b/c of the heat. We did and it was no problem. We all just hung out in the gabi Beach Bar until it was time for sunset pics and the reception to start.

I think the beach reception made it for our guests. having it in a restaurant takes away from a DW IMHO.
