Are you having your honeymoon at the same resort?

Recommended Posts

Since we were gone for almost 2 weeks, we went ahead and stayed at the same resort. Most people left on Sunday after the wedding and the rest on Monday. So we had a whole week to ourselves.

We are getting married at the Dreams Cancun resort. The day after the wedding we are taking a limo and we are going 30 minutes south to a hotel called the Valentin. Its all inclusive and adults only!! There was no way we were going to stay at the resort with all of our family

I will be picking a different destination for my honeymoon. I think we will get bored in the same location. We haven't decided yet, but I think it will be either Greece or Itally. I think we may need a break, so we will probably go a few weeks after the wedding.

We are not going someplace else for our honeymoon, and we purposely planned our wedding this way. We are staying at SGOR and our families are staying at nearby Beaches Boscobel. Since our families are arriving the afternoon before the wedding, we won't see them until wedding day. We're not doing activities with our guests the days up to the wedding and after. Our families are very respectful of the fact that we are staying at a different resort. However, we are all on the same return flight home!

We are staying at the resort after the wedding. I personally don't like to do a whole bunch of moving around, and lugging a lot of my crap will be too much for me. And most of my friends and family will be leaving a few days after the wedding anyway so we will be there for almost 2 weeks.

We're staying at the same resort since we would've lost too much time travelling to a different location. We are staying at the same hotel the wedding will be at until the day after the wedding and then are switching to the adults only hotel in the same resort complex for the rest of the trip.

we are staying at the same place for a week. Most of our guests are only staying 3 days. I think it will be more relaxing to not worry about packing up & changing hotels.

I don't think I'd like back to back vacations. I imagine I'll be pretty worn out after the week we have planned. I would rather save the vacation money & go somewhere 6 months or a year later.

I hear you, I wasn't sure how it would work because we had never done it before. We were worn out after the wedding week, for sure! But once we got on the next plane and were flying to start our honeymoon in a new place we were super excited all over again...kind of how we felt on the way to the wedding.

Price wise it would have been less costly without the additional flight but being in Jamaica - alone - after being in Mexico with everyone was refreshingly awesome. Plus we stepped off the plane as newleyweds and got to make memories in a place that was only ours, we shared Mexico...if that makes sense. But yes, a vacation 6 months later would be nice too :)

That's great that it gave you your second wind. I worry I'd be burnt, sick & tired. Also, it's really hard for Mike to take off more than a week from work at a time. Then we have 2 more weddings this summer. Precious vacation time.

Our plan is if we don't feel satisfied with our honeymoon time, we'll get a cabin in the NC mountains when we get back.

I really want to go to Brazil or Costa Rica next. But, I want to do a ton of planning before that trip to know all the places I want to see. And with all the riviera maya planning & wedding planning, it would be too much to do. So I think planning the next trip will be how I prevent the post wedding blues.
