Crap! Mine should be coming in the mail this week. We'll see if they fit.

The arch my resort is using is like a regular arch size, so I hope it will be enough. Yours looks a lot larger then the one they have.

Possibly. My WC said they would just make the arch the size it needed to be for the curtains. So it was probably around 6' wide.

You could also just use a 3' one and have like tulle or some type of loose fabric hang down the sides of it. That might look pretty and it would eliminate gaps- if any.

Yep- that's what I did too. You should have saw me the DAY we left sawing off the ends of the curtains muttering "these will fit even if I have to cut them in a million little pieces." I probably looked psychotic. Nobody mess with a bride with a hacksaw in her hand.

LOL.

Rachel, I'm looking into buying these and trying to decide whether one or two would be best. I realized that no one had yet suggested untying them from the main post and re-tying them to the bamboo arch. Then we don't have to worry about 3' spacing but could instead space them out evenly by re-tying them around the bamboo.

Do you remember how they were attached? Think this might be possible?

I had thought about this before I began hacksawing it. The strands were tied to the rod- there were drilled holes and the strings went through the hole and just knotted at the top.

I didn't cut the individual strings off for a few reasons:

1. THe top of the string wasn't long enough to simply tie to the arch. There was like only an inch or less of string. I thought maybe they could staple them on, but then I didn't know if they had a staple gun.

2. I didn't want the workers to have to tie on all the strands.

3. I worried about the workers not evenly spacing the strands if they did tie them on. I'm kinda anal and I would have totally noticed that. I noticed that they left a few strands tangled together and during the ceremony, I itched to go over and fix them. It was only at the bottom of it though so I'm sure more people didn't notice.

The hubby and I brainstormed for a little bit before I started to hacksaw it, but we didn't come up with any better idea. There probably ARE better ideas, but cutting it worked for me.
