"Friend" Vent

Sorry I got to this late - but don't let it bother you. It sounds like you were the one making all of the effort anyway. You just can't please everyone all the time and she seems like she would be unhappy anyway. That's the last thing you want to have to deal with on your wedding is someone who can't be social. It's not your job to babysit!

Thank you Celina...that was very well said. Indeed, she may have pissed both of us off with her attitude and thats not what we want on our wedding trip.

I totally sympathize. My best friend and my sister won't be there. It crushes me when I think about it too much, but I also know that we made the choice knowing that it was a lot to ask of people and we had to be okay with some people not being there. Honestly, it would take a lot for me to want to be at someone else's DW, so I understand others not able to go.

She seems kind of anti-social and maybe she doesn't want to go to a DW where she would prob not know a lot of people. She kind of sounds like a downer, too, so I wouldn't sweat it too much. Don't ask her. If she brings it up, then say something but maybe she doesn't want to talk about it or is going through a rough time. Sorry.

Don't even get me started my friend of 15 years has vanished now that I've given her the date and the flights for the wedding!! So I think its their prob not yours let them get on with it

 

But remember it when she comes crying and wanting your attention then gently remind her about what she did about your wedding and then nicely tell her to "POKE OFF" lmao

she is a downer, unfortunately bc if she wasnt she would be a fun person to be around...she asked me if i rcvd her rsvp response and she stated she felt bad, etc...but i told her "no problem, you will miss a wonderful occassion, wish you couldve been there but I'll bring back pictures to show you"...i think she expected me to be angry but i didnt give her the satisfaction of knowing that it did upset me a little....oh well, i'm over it now...lol Thx for the input by the way

I'm catching this thread late. I'm sorry your friend can't make it, but i'm glad your not letting it get you down anymore. I was upset too that a lot of our close friends and the family i'm close with aren't coming. But you know what, we won't even notice these people aren't there because we will be having such a kick ass time!!! Your wedding will be great and the people who aren't there will regret it when they see your pics! Their loss.

We have quite a few friends who will not be able to make it to the wedding but it's cool. I like the idea of having a small group.

Who wants a "Debbie Downer" or their negative energy around..consider yourself blessed that she has decided not to attend!
