What necklace to wear with halter dress?

B/c you plan to wear it at your AHR and in order to continue a tradition what about something with gold? I may be mistaken but don't they wear gold in chinese tradition? Maybe a nice thing gold necklace with a gold pendant.

Personally I would want something thin, but if the whole purpose of the tradition is to bring jewelery into the family then something small might defeat that purpose. I don't know if I'm making sense or not.

Or how about a thin necklace with a small pearl?
