The best workout DVDs I have ever owned- P90X

There is a set of pilates step aerobics tapes my future mother in law has - I'll try to remember what it is - but it is a set - it involves weights and step aerobics and pilates all mixed together (I usualy play the cardio part 2x to make it worth it). The step goes up and down diagonally - really great.

I recently got turbo jam. I love it! There are a few girls I work out with reguarly. We split the cost of the set. We did Cardio party & Ab Jam tonight. It's a blast!

I love working out at home. We can talk during the workout, workout on our schedule, & be as silly as we want. It's a little hard to fit 3 of us in the living room kicking at the same time, but we make it work. 4 would be a really tight squeeze.

We do another at home workout I call "dance dance revolution circuit." It's a rotation of DDR, pilates & weights.
I LOVE turbojam, I've bought it last year and love cardio party and the turbosculpt.

We finally got P90X, I'm following the lean program and DH is doing classic, so we have 2 days that we workout on our own and the others we can do together depending on our schedules.

I like P90X, but I didn't really feel like the cardio video was enough of a workout for me. There were a couple of parts that got my heart pumping, but I'm used to cardio workouts that I'm sweating and my hearts pumping throughout the majority of it. I think I might have to do some cardio on my own, maybe throw in a turbo jam video one day a week on top of P90X.

I also love step classes. My old gym still has the classes, but the membership is too expensive, I'd love to find somewhere, where I could just take one or two classes a week.

I also have a video called Amy Bento Hi/Lo Extreme, I think there are about 13 different workout combinations on the video, all different lengths, and its a fantastic workout, she does weights, plyo, some step type moves, kickboxing moves, etc...

I know what you mean about manly. I think the videos are good, but we're trying to really stick to the program for the 90 days, so working out 6 days a week, but I think I might have to stray a little bit to get more cardio.

I don't follow the program. I just use the videos I like when I want. I really like cardio X. My heart rate gets really high during the plyo part.

My friends just left after a night of turbo jam & karaoke revolution.

The plyo part is really good, I like that part. There is a plyo dvd too, so I could substitute that for the cardio too.

We did yoga today, neither one of us ever do yoga, I never really liked it because I always felt bored. Well, bored no more, that was a tough workout!

what's karaoke revolution?

It's a game where you sing karaoke & you are judged on timing & pitch. it's so much fun. They have it for xbox, playstation, wii, game cube & probably more.

That sounds fun!

I think my niece might have gotten that for her birthday, I'll have to check it out.

My first round of P90X I did the lean version and I agree about the CardioX. I had done Turbo Jam and TJ Maximum Results for a year or so before starting P90X, so I was used to a really high cardio workout. But, I still think it's great b/c it's only about 45 minutes compared to the other workouts which take at least an hour or an hour and 20 minutes (when you add Ab X). So, I tend to get excited for the Cardio X day. I am getting ready to start Phase 3 of my second round of P90X and this round I have been doing the classic version, so instead of CardioX, I get to do Plyo. Plyo is rough and will definitely get your heart going, so I would substitute it for the Cardio X if you think it would help you or you could just do the classic with your DH. But, I HATE the Yoga (prob b/c it doesn't move fast and it takes forever), so I substitute every Yoga day for Cardio X.

As far as Turbo Jam, it is a lot of fun, but it doesn't have any weight training. There is one video that incorporates weights (Turbo Sculpt) but I don't think it compares to P90X in that way.

For those of you that do P90X don't you just want to strangle that blonde, Drea? She has the most perfect abs I have ever seen...drives me crazy! Especially, because after almost two 90 day sessions back to back, I am nowhere near her or where I thought I would be. I feel that my body looks better and I know I am getting a great workout, but I thought I would have those abs and super defined arms....anyone else feel that way?

I hate drea the most when I do drea rolls at the end of cardio x.
