It'll work out for the best honestly

I get to see FI twice a month if i'm lucky because he's in the army and when he is home i've got my head stuck in law books, but its been that way for the last 6 years so we are kind of used to it now.

Trust me you'll love living just you and the cats after a while lol no nagging!! lmao and it'll soon rush over and you'll be begging for time on your own lol

I'm sorry Ana that would be hard, especially since you just decided your plan on Saturday. It will get some getting used too but it sounds like this is a great decision for both of you and for your future! Two months will fly and think about the visits...those will be very fun!!!

I completely understand the sad feeling you're getting, but like everyone is saying it's just short term & is going to make everything even better in the long run! If it makes you feel any better, Mat & I did long distance for just over 3 years combined & it had it's rough moments, but it really brought us closer together!

I'm kinda butting in here on the suggestion, but I think maybe we should organized a GTA get-together when you're in Ontario! :)

yea i know...its going to be more than 2 months though. 2 months until he leaves, but then it will be a minimum of 3 months apart, maybe more. I'll be ok though I think. I"m planning to stay super super busy lol!smile105.gif

oh Ana-Maria, I am so incredibly sorry, that stinks, its hard to be away from your FI.

I have a silly question for you, you mentioned that your job gives you medical insurance, but if you live in Canada why do you need health insurance if you get it free from the government? Did I miss that somewhere?

The idea of a GTA get-together is great! I'm sorry about the long-distance thing, Ana - Steve and I did that for 2 years when he lived in England/Hong Kong and it was tough, but the visits were great and we are stronger for it, too. And you know you're doing the right thing! Maybe you can get a dog? Or an alarm system....

The government coverage is for things like operations, general checkups pretty much everything like that. Medication, however, dental work, vision care, etc.. are not covered. So for example this past winter I got really sick with this C Difficile super bug, it was a really bad gastro intestinal infection that landed me in the hospital for a week. My stay at the hospital, the tests they ran there including seeing a specialist, the medication they pumped into me (morphine antibiotics and so on) were all covered by the government. I didn't have to pay a bill when I left the hospital. They gave me a prescription there, which equated over $800 worth of medicine that I had to take after I left, and that isn't covered by the government. Luckly I had insurance through my work and Michael's that covered me for all the expenses. But if I hadn't then I'd have had to pay for it. Its the same with dental. Its not covered by the government. YOu still have to pay for checkups, cleanings, fillings, wisdom teeth extractions, unless you have medical coverage through work. Hope that explained it...lol! I don't know if I got any of that wrong at all cheesy.gif

We've done the long distance thing before and it was tough, really tough actually but it was ok. It worked and I know it will now too, its just that I'm going to miss him. Its strange having your bestfriend with you all the time, sleeping beside you, eating with you and then having them gone. Its nice to just fell that there's someone beside me on the bed, and when he's gone its usually so empty ...ok i'm making myself cry so thats enough
