battery powered ipod and speakers?

Recommended Posts

So I think most of you know that Beaches has annoyed me ever since I booked my wedding. I always try to look past it cuz we can't change the location site, but I am kinda crabby today and they just pissed me off.

We are only having 26 people (22 adults) in Jamaica for our reception. I don't want to spend almost $1k for a DJ for such a small group, so I emailed them to confirm they would provide a power cord if I brought an ipod and speakers or docking station. She wrote me back that she would suggest I bring battery powered everything since there are no plugs at the reception sites.

Am I out of line for thinking they should just supply me with an extension cordhuh.gif It doesn't seem too much to ask in my head, but like I said, I am a little crabby today...

that seems strange that they can't supply you with an extension cord. are you having the reception on the beach, where there is no access to power?

I brought batteries for our docking station because I wasn't sure if they would have a cord, but they did so we didn't need the batteries. Our docking station took a LOT of batteries! I think it was 8 or 12 D batteries.

That sucks Carly! Our reception site had electricity, so it wasn't a big deal. They had a stereo setup, so we just plugged the ipod in through that. What do they do if they get a DJ? They must have some way of hooking up his equipment... ?

This may be a stupid question, but they do have 3 prong outlets correcthuh.gif

And whoever ahs that iPod BOSE docking station, are you pleased with it and does it take batteries? We went to Bose (since that is the system I have in my SUV and I love them) and listened to it and it sounded very good, but I am just worried that it sounded good in an enclosed space...how will it sound outside? We haven't bought it yet, but I wanted to see if anyone knew anything about it?
