ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

A thought: do any of you think it would benefit my fiance and I to arrive at the Royal a week in advance, totalling to 2 weeks at the resort? We are just concerned with the fast pace of the whole week, because of the planning and meeting with the coordinators. I'm asking this question assuming you are going with the 1 week, all inclusive option, as I'm doing.

What do you think? Would it just be a waste of money?

I'm mainly worried with our choice of wedding day. We originally wanted to marry on Tuesday, May 12 2009, but since we have to arrive in Mexico 4 business days in advance, we'd have to arrive earlier than the usual Toronto Saturday departures. Any thoughts?

Hi Steph,

We're spending 11 nights at the Royal. We're flying from Mexico to St Lucia for our honeymoon for a week so it was better for us to not do a package deal and instead book everything separately, which also worked out well in allowing us to choose our length of stay in Mexico. We initially were thinking a week in Mexico, but decided it would be a bit too rushed for us. We want to get there before all the guests and have things settled before everyone arrives. I think a week is definitely doable, but two would be my preference between the two. You could always think about switching and going to another hotel for the last little bit as a honeymoon... I think you can pay a bit extra to switch hotels while still doing a package deal.

We arrived on a Tuesday, married on Saturday and stayed until the following Saturday, so we had 11 days there. It was definitely a nice amount of time, but you always want to have longer. Even if we had stayed for three weeks, I don't think I would have been ready to leave!

Hi! I am getting married there in May 2009 too! I haven't found out the cost for the dance floor and speakers - but when I do I will post it. I have been emailing them back and forth for a month now and seem to get all the answers I need. I am having my reception at the Royal too but all my guests will be staying at the Gran Porto. I hope they allow kids for the ceremony at the Royal I have a flower girl who is 4!

I will keep you posted on what I find out!

Thanks!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
The Royal does allow kids for the ceremony and all the wedding events the day of, and the dance floor and speakers are included. Let us know if you have any questions and happy planning!

Out of curiosity, how much is it costing your guests for like 3 nights? or are they going longer to the Royal? Wow 100...thats a lot in such short notice to go!! thats going to be great though!! unfortunately i would have loved to do one of the adults only hotels in riviera maya, but I have 4 nephews and need them there. i cant make them stay at a nearby hotel...thats just not fair for my family....i wish they could accommodate!!
