I did this too and it was fine... I think they count the Saturday and the Monday, or else the Monday and the Tuesday.

So finally I got a response about docs for vow renewal ceremonies:

We do apologies for this late respond. If you are going do a Renewal Of
Vows there is no need for documentation.

So there you have it! No required docs.

hi, girls

just for clarification - when we are talking about "originals" of a birth certificate, are we talking about a "certified copy"?

My fiance doesn't have an original of his birth certificate, and everything else we've done (for other things requiring birth certificates) a certified copy has been OK.

Thanks!

As long as the copy has a raised seal it will work.

I got a copy of my birth certificate & took that copy along with the original & got it notarized. You must have the original with you when you go to get the copy notarized. All they do is say that they saw the original & validate that the copy you have is in fact of the original...Hope that makes sense!! Chandlyn received it & said it was fine.

I would think that your FI can take the certified copy of the bc & get a copy of that notarized & then send that in.

I've run into some problems. I ordered my original birth certificate and got the certified copy in the mail. I made a copy of the certified copy and took both to the notary. they refused to notarize it. They said that it is illegal in the state of california to touch a birth or death certificate. What do i do nowhuh.gif should i just send Chandlyn the original? I"m scared that it will get lost in the mail and that she will never receive it.........even if i send it certified.
