Island Wedding, Small reception entertainment?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm getting married in St. croix (Carambola Beach) with a small ceremony and about 25 guests. We are planning a small reception to follow, but right now it's basically just a dinner. Is there usually entertainment, such as a DJ or live music, at a reception so small, or is it generally just a dinner that follows the beach ceremony? Thanks!!

Hi Deb! Welcome to the Forum!!

I almost had my wedding at Carambola - we did all of the planning and details and decided against it right before signing the contract. The reason we decided not to do it was our date is not flexible (Fri 9/5/0cool.gif and they have their weekly party on Friday's and couldn't have a 'seperate event' which would have meant that our wedding reception would be part of a party with othe people...also early Sept is hurricane season in the Carribean so we didn't want to take that risk.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to post them here or PM me.

Thanks,
alyssa

I've heard about the party that is held on Fridays, and from what I understand it's kind of a big affair! I agree, sharing your wedding reception with many strangers is not ideal. Thank you for sharing your story, I may definitely have questions in the future! :)
