I searched the forum and wasn't really able to come up with an answer to my questions. I would like to buy adobe photoshop for a couple of reasons...to do invites & STDs, but also because I am slowly getting into photography (just as a hobby). I understand that Adobe Photoshop Elements is the cheaper version, but is it really that different from the expensive one, because the price is sure different? Also, where can I find the best deal on Photoshop products? Is it possible to buy it from someone else who bought it...I would assume the only disadvantage would be that you couldn't register it? Thanks for any advice!

I will have green screen examples up today. Unfortunately my green screen as deleyed coming in. luckily my friend had a lime green wall that worked pretty good. We had a party last night & I took everyone's pictures for photoshop purposes.

Elements is a great program. You can do so much, it's had to imagine what else CS can do. I've become a litle obsesed with photoshop recently & decided to upgrade to CS3 (for $170 through my college). I'd suggest starting with elements though. You can do just about everything.

I've heard you can get it for $30 off ebay. I have 2.0 & 4.0. Both are great. The instant red eye reduce in 4.0 is better. I think these are both older versions, but they are really good programs.

hehe, unfortunately it's not available at my work.

Well, since posting this thread I did a little more research, it looks as though Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 sells for $65-$100, the cheapest requiring a student ID (which I am no longer one). However, I did come across this $20 rebate through Adobe if you purchase the program. The purchase must be made by 10/31/08, and you must own (or know someone who does) a program from the list provided on the rebate. It only requires a photocopy of the program cd or a print out from one of the programs, which you could easily get from a friend. Anyway...here is the rebate form, in case anyone else was thinking about purchasing the new elements program.
