More fun with photoshop- cap & gown picture

Recommended Posts

A friend asked me to photoshop this picture of her cousin. She didn't take pro pictures in her cap and gown, but really wanted one. I tired to make this snapshot look like something that could be framed. I also took some of the sunburn off her face & enhanced her skin.

I am still in the learning stages of photoshop. My guess is I will always be learning though. There is so much to do with this one program. If any of the pros have some suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them. I ordered a guide off amazon that should be here soon so I can get more tips. Most of what I know is just from playing around with it or getting some tips off the internet.

I really had trouble getting the background cleanly removed because it was so colorful. It reflected the bright colors off her robe. I think I should have run over the edge with a brush turning the edge greyscale before erasing the background.

Great job Morgan, especially with the sunburn. I did a similar thing with my grad pic, since I didn't like the ones the school took, and had a better looking one that my family took. I did a blurry stripy red background instead of black one, but I love how it looks with the more classic look.

I so want to learn photoshop stuff but most of the time I get too frustrated to finish anything.

thanks! I still have a lot more skills I want to learn, but once I do I would be interested in starting up a little photoshop business. It's such a fun hobby.

Thanks! That means a lot coming from a pro.

Great job Morgan- I need to start playing with Photoshop some more. I'm just too addicted to Lumapix to try something new.

I might have a job to send your way- I'm going to be doing an album for a coworker and she has a mole she wants removed. I told her I'd find out what you'd charge... it's not going to be for a couple months though.
